The rooms were lovely and well-maintained. Excellent cleaning and hotel staff. From the night porter who let me in when I arrived late without calling in advance, the front desk staff who were always and offering coffee to the cleaning people who did a magnificent job cleaning the room every day perfectly it was lovely.

The place was a little dingy but the location in Leiden was great. It is supposed to be closing at the first of May.

The hotel is in a nice walkable area of the city, close to the shops and market. What I didn't like about the hotel was the breakfast available in the restaurant, it was too expensive for what it offers. Next time I'll eat out.

Everything you need from a hotel

Very well located hotel in the centre of Leiden. Hotel was quiet despite the central location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, clean and comfortable. It felt a little dated but that doesn't really matter unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel. If you're looking for a convenient, well placed hotel for your trip to Leiden, I would definitely recommend the Best Western City Hotel.

viezig bed

Algehele staat van het hotel is matig/slecht met veel geluidsoverlast en lampjes die er wel staan maar waarvoor geen stopcontact is. Het meest vies was echter het het bed wat schoon leek maar erg onfris rook.

Sämsta jag bott på

Hela hotellet stank starkt av mögel, överallt. I trapphus, korridorer, hiss och rum. Fuktfläckar i taket. Toaletten luktade urin trots att det var städat. Vi stannade en timme och därefter bytte vi hotell. Gick inte att stå ut med stanken. Allt kändes kallt och fuktigt. Det här stället förtjänar inte 3 stjärnor, snarare ingen stjärna alls. Mögel är en hälsofara.

Séjour correct. Pas d’air climatisé, il fallait ouvrir les fenêtres et il y a un bar avec terrasse au coun de la rue, c’est bruyant, il a fallu fermer des fenêtres, ce qui augmentait la chaleur dans la chambre.

Great people, good hotel

The staff here were very helpful, from ensuring I was checked into a room when I arrived early, to taking care of a package I wanted to leave for a friend who I couldn't quite arrange to catch up with. The hotel is quite old, though, so the condition was not so great, but the bed was comfortable and the stay was nice enough. The location is excellent, between the train station and city centre.

The staff was so accommodating, pleasant and we appreciated the extra service they provided us. Our train was delayed and we had to arrive past 11pm. The hotel front desk person waited for us to arrive and sign us in. The hotel was clean and functional and convenient. We would stay there again if ever in Leiden.

Die Lage ist super, direkt in der Innenstadt und nah zum Bahnhof. Das Zimmer war etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Leider war es schwer zu lüften, sodass es sehr warm war (Klimaanlage ging nicht) und der Geruch im Bad und im Hotel war unangenehm. Es hätte sauberer sein können. Die Große Fensterfront im Zimmer war sehr schön (schade, dass nur ein kleines Fenster geöffnet werden konnte) und es gab auch 2 Stühle und Tische. Leider fehlte ein Föhn.

OK hotel in Leiden but nothing special

Our stay was very nice. The hotel is basic, no frills. Clean, and staff were friendly and helpful. Sadly, the chain was very inflexible with regards to refunds during Covid.

Good location + service; but worn out + poor wifi

Great service by staff but the hotel is very worn out. Wifi was so slow that I had to use cell phone to roam to download emails. Sink was clocked. Closet could not open/close easily. Breakfast was outsourced to an excellent place across the street but not open until 7:30am which is a little bit late for business purposes.

Im Zimmer war alles mögliche kaputt: die Badewanne (aber das war uns vorher angekündigt worden, also kein Problem), die Heizung ging nicht, dann Lampen, Strom teilweise, der Seifenspender war abgebrochen und lag auf dem Boden. Dafür war ein Solarium Licht in der Dusche?! Wer braucht sowas. Außerdem viel zu gefährlich, das ohne Einweisung zu benutzen. Zimmer war ziemlich hellhörig und das Bett war steinhart. Alles in allem das Geld absolut nicht wert.

Prima centrale plek, goed hotel en toch rustig. Kamer was schoon en netjes. Badkamer was erg klein. Wastafel te klein, veel watergeknoei. Geen handdouche, alleen regendouche. Weinig ruimte voor spullen neerzetten.
