Clean modern hotel in a central location in Santa Cruz. Can’t fault the rooms, cleanliness, location or the breakfast.
Where they fell short was the service. The service is polite, but very slow. Although 2 staff were at check-in desks, only one was working. It took a long time to check us in as there was a short queue and the service was slow. This wasn't great as we were already tired after a very early start setting off from London, especially for my kids. When I asked the second lady if she could help us check in, she said she wasn’t working and that we had to wait for her colleague to become available. This is pretty unusual for a 4-star hotel. Also, the bar on the roof terrace where the splash pool is doesn’t open until 1pm and there are no food or snacks on offer outside of lunch hours. Considering the pool is open it’d be great to be able to order drinks and snacks. Overall a really good hotel that can do much better if they improve service levels.
