Don't stay here
The property looks about 1/10th as nice as the pictures. Also, they told me I could have a late checkout for NT$ 180 (about 6 U$D) at 3pm, but started calling me profusely at 12:30pm asking that I leave (and still charged me) - someone was waiting outside my room to tell me I owed money. Overall, a horrible experience and I won't be back. Also, for anyone who wants to enjoy Taipei, this is in Linkou, about 25 minutes (by subway) to where you want to be

Good old hotel which is near the Chang Gan Hospital and Airport MRT station, and many restaurants and shops. The facilities are dated. Particularly the bathroom shower head really should be replaced. Friendly staff and nice breakfast.

Overall, this hotel meets the standard of 3.5-4 stars. However, I was not impressed about the check-in process. First of, I did confirm with a hotel staff if it was possible to do early check-in since my flight arrived in Taipei in the early morning, and I was advised that there was an addiaitonal charge for this, and this was acceptable and understandable. However, I did not do early check in as it was 2 hours prior Hotel Policy's check in time (check in time 1500hr local time). After wandering around, once it reached 1500hr, the room was not yet ready for check-in, and I was kept waiting till 1530hr at the hotel's lobby (extended-30-minute-wait was not noce to guests). This issue is probably related to Room Operation Management. If they can fix this, the rest would be perfect.

The location is super convenient with public transit hub, shopping, and food within walking distance. The property is old but well maintained. My only complaint is the shower head produces very weak and extremely thin stream of water that's almost like mist. The water quantity is so little that its temperature drops so much traveling from the shower head to my body. I had to use my hand to hold the shower head very close to my body if I want the water to remain decently warm. The included breakfast is awesome with great food and services!

Friendly and helpful staff - clean room and comfortable bed. For this price, it’s a great option. Breakfast had wide variety of food and was good too. We stayed here before catching a taxi to airport and it worked out well.

Hotel was very clean and the staff are very friendly and professional. Morning breakfast has a good selection. The room rates were also very reasonable especially given the area and how convenient it is.

This property is well situated, close to train, bus, hospital and shopping mall. It is quite old and in need of updates. Supposed to be non-smoking but cigarettes were consumed in our hallway and I can smell traces in our room. Large bus groups are housed here causing morning elevator, breakfast and lobby jams.

Don’t Worry - Be Happy with your stay
Truly enjoy my stay with Higness. The breakfast is superb and the facility is pretty good relative to its room rate. My trip requirement is walking to nearby hospital visit - it fits that purpose.

Highness hotel
Hotel is very dated and needs a refurbishment. Everything about the hotel is bordering on poor quality, the breakfast is especially poor with very little choice. Definitely not the 3.5 star hotel as advertised.

The room (816) was reasonably clean. However the shower curtain was too short and too narrow and water was everywhere in the bathroom. I had to stop after 30 seconds. Adding 30 centimeters should solve the problem. The small refrigerator was leaking water and I had put towels on the floor. The wallpaper peeled off. 2 stars at most. This is my second stay here. The previous visit was very pleasant.
