There are many wonderful things about Taormina. It's a magical place. But for us, our Taormina experience was exponentially enhanced by our stay at Hotel Villa Ducale. It is an exceptionally beautiful property, with stunning views of the town, the sea, the coastline, and mount Etna. We absolutely loved our suite, with its private entrance and the view of the coastline, its exquisite décor, super comfy bed, and unexpected amenities such as free drinks in the fridge, and Etro toiletries and Etro robe. After a day of sightseeing, we looked forward to unwinding at the terrace with a glass of wine overlooking the most majestic view of Sicily we could only have dreamed of. I could write an entire essay on the staff, which was as impressive as the views from the hotel. From the reception office to the wait staff and bartender, to the person in charge of parking our car in an impossibly tight and coveted spot, they made our stay unforgettable. Taormina is a very busy, crowded, and noisy town. Hotel Villa Ducale is quiet and peaceful. It provided us with the space to rest well and recharge. The hotel is well located, between Taormina and Castelmola, (about 15-20 minutes walk to either town), an added benefit, since parking is virtually impossible.

Absolutely magnificent. The property, the staff from front desk to dining to the gent who drove the shuttle bus were so incredibly friendly and hospitable. Could not be more happy with the stay.

While the hotel has beautiful views of the water, the location is very inconvenient to get into town. The staff is hit or miss with many of the workers quite rude and unhelpful and we were overcharged multiple times by the taxi companies that the hotel recommended. Be aware, the shuttle service offered by the hotel is offered at very random times and even if you reserve ahead of time, they sometimes forget and do not honor. Would recommend staying closer to the main location and spending your money at a more welcoming place.

This is a beautiful property with breathtaking views. We stayed in the suite with a sea view looking out at the shore of Italy. Staff was very helpful and attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The best and friendliest service I’ve ever had. Juliana, Dahlia, Max, Francesco, and all the others were wonderful. The room was good, the AC worked well, and the views were spectacular. A little inconvenient being way up on the hill but the free shuttle was great or a short taxi ride. I highly recommend Hotel Villa Ducale.

Magical week at Villa Ducale
Firstly, i am the type of person who does extensive amount of research before travelling on which hotel to stay at. Looking at most hotels in Taormina, before finally deciding to stay here. At Villa Ducale. The room was fantastic, and we stayed in one of the smaller ones. The location in the hills gives you a calm setting with hardly any noice and not a single disturbance. Still in walking distance from the town and main street, with many great restaurants and sights only being a 20 min. walk. With cozy streets leading the way and a breathtaking view, walking down from the hills. One of the largest debates i had with myself prior to booking, was that it wasn't close to the ocean / beach. This turned out to be no issue at all, with great (free) shuttle services leading you to a selection of great locations & beach clubs (which were all fairly priced). Most days we could book the time for the shuttle on our request, so little to no adaptation to a set time schedule. So you get the best of both worlds here, with the serenity of being away from the crowds and with breathtaking views. Still having easy access to the beautiful beaches & ocean. The service is beyond great, and the staff have a wonderful personal touch and attention to detail to everything, making your stay special. The pool and sunbeds in the garden are a great addition, and the restaurant, drinks and breakfast are excellent. We are already planning our next stay, Truly a great experience,

You get a view looking down at the city. The restaurant is on a balcony with a spectacular view of Mount Etna. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were spacious. The tiny pool is across the street with no lounge chairs . They offer a free shuttle van to and from the hotel in the central area. The staff wasn't clear on the pickup point on central Taormina. This place was a treat.

Our stay overall was just perfect. The hotel is perfectly located on the rock offering a spectacular view on the Etna and the sea. Our room was beautiful but the best was the service we experienced throughout our stay. The whole team was super friendly by heart and very helpful. We felt very welcome and can only recommend the hotel. We will for sure come back when we return to the area.

Big disappointment all around. Very rude staff. At breakfast you are told that 5 tiny pieces of fruits are enough for two people. Also right by the hotel is a mega telecom tower. Make your holiday more enjoyable and Pick a better hotel !

We are located in the secluded residential area of Taormina enjoying one of the most astonishing views in the world, away from the bustling town center but close enough to reach it in 15/20 minutes down the 1000 years old Moorish steps or in 5 minutes by using our complimentary Shuttle service. Our quality, Breakfast and service have been widely praised in over 25 years of passionate hard work and almost 2500 reviewers, our passion hasn’t diminished. Not that I am surprised but always curious on how in life can sometimes help, kindness and courtesy be totally mistaken in this way; however, we will leave judgment and reply to this comment to our future guests. p.s. purely for your information the personal/physical comments/description on our lovely “in her early 30s” cleaning lady violates review guidelines and will be reported. Excellent customer service, luxurious accommodations, delicious breakfast, and convenient shuttle transportation. Only downside is the ongoing barking from a neighborhood dog. I love dogs but several hours of barking each day was annoying.

Just relax and soak in the incredible views because the staff will take excellent care of you during your stay. The shuttle service is the perfect feature to allow you to enjoy the town without the worry of driving/parking in the hills of Taormina. From sunrise to sunset you simply can’t beat the vista of sea and Mount Etna!

This is a fantastic hotel. It is perched high on the hill overlooking Taormina so beautiful vistas. The staff is utterly first class, always looking to be helpful. The restaurant is top notch. The menu is not gigantic, but thoughtfully and creatively prepared with the best ingredients. Quality cookery. All the servers were exceptional, especially the bar man (I wish I could ember his name) who was so helpful with a super personality. We stayed in suite #21 with a private sitting area with a lounge day bed with a view over the town and Mt. Etna. Parking at 20€ a day was a bargain as we had no desire to drive out. For one thing, the roads are very narrow and twisting and for us, intimidating. This was our splurge hotel in Sicily, but worth every penny. Oddly enough, Taormina was our least favorite town/city we visited.
