Very convenient to everything and well appointed hotel. Only complaint is, even though the front desk is staffed 24 hours, we had to wait 5-10 to be checked in - as there was no one at the front desk around 6:30/7 pm on a weekday when most corporate travellers will be checking in. Otherwise - very good hotel and recommend it.

Staff were great. Very friendly and accommodating. Room was comfortable. The shower made my day. Room to move, shower head that could be moved to height and angle I wanted, taps that gave me the temperature and water flow I wanted. I would go back just because of being able to have a great shower. Bed was comfy too.

Property has just been refurbished so all nice and new with a new carpets smell, rooms are really nice with a very comfy bed, staff where great friendly and professional

When we booked this hotel it was a Mecure but now it is a lovely refurbished Sebel, as soon as you entered the hotel it had that lovely new carpet smell, looks like everything has been replaced, it was a nice week though during the New Years week, room has a nice feel of luxury about it and a nice comfy bed, staff are great and very friendly

The property has been refurbished and rebadged to the better Sebel brand. The refurbishment has been done on the cheap, the bathroom is tight for two people, no minibar but there is a mini bar product list on the reception counter, no restaurant, the adjacent restaurant was closed, so no where close for breakfast, no bar in the hotel and no room service. It's positives, friendly reception staff, complimentary bottle of sparkling wine that was surprisingly good and its walkable distance from Circular Quay and Darling Harbour.

This hotel is being upgraded so we had a newly renovated room. The rooms are a little small but nice. The location is close to a lot of things downtown which is great. There is no pool or restaurant although lots of restaurants are close.

Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me the carpet was wet where I placed my clothes near my bed that I was going to wear that day. The clothes were sopping wet including my under garments. I was lucky that I had spare underwear, but I had limited clothes packed for one nights stay and had to wear what I had worn the night before. I have told the Concierge am awaiting to hear from the manager. I am not happy about the situation.

Worse hotel I’ve stayed at in Sydney, the air con in the room didn’t work it was cooler in the corridors, we informed the front desk an was moved after the 1st night the 2nd room was no better than the 1st , even heard other guests complaining about the same problem, how this property is described as 4 stars I don’t know , I’d love if Mercure would reach out an at least acknowledge how bad it was

Excellent place to stay. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Great location. Only negative is we had twin beds in 2 x rooms and when you go to sit on edge of bed, the bed rolled away almost causing a few nasty accidents, especially as we had an older person with us. The wheels need to be locked in ( we looked- no locks) Overall we had a very comfortable stay.

Very limited amenities. I read they had adjoining rooms and in June requested 2 for our stay. It was not honoured even though both our room had adjoining doors and the next door seemed to be not used.

After checking in at 1330 and being given our room key, we went up to find our room hadn't been serviced. Room was finally ready one hour later with a little gift left to apologise. Parking was quoted as $65.00 overnight (special hotel rate). When we checked out, the hotel couldn't validate our ticket so it cost us almost three times as much ($170.00) to release our car from the car park.

I like the location. It’s quiet. It’s clean. Reception was not great. I requested for a twin room, When I booked, rang before the day and on arrival at the reception, I asked again if it’s a twin room and she said yes, it’s a twin room, but I got a queen bed. I then have to go back down from 7 th floor and asked to change it which she did. Free Breakfast is outside the hotel in a nearby cafe takeaway shop.

A good location in a quiet street in the heart of Sydney. Very clean, the beds were comfortable, loved the soap! Only hassle was that we couldn't raise the hotel by phone before our stay so tried email which was a little trying, but everything worked out well and they were very accommodating of our requests both before we left home and when we arrived at the hotel.

Cheaper, so can't complain about the bare standard on utilities, amenities, staffing etc. The bedding is clean which is great, even though the thin green felt blanket smells musty. However, 2 of the lights in the room don't work and nothing the bare skeleton staff can do about. Our biggest problem is the booking we made through wotif was not visible to the staff even in late afternoon so I had to run to the hotel to rebook in person.

Everything was very good at the Mercure!We did need more than one teabag for the two of us for two nights!We could have asked for more but forgot& only 2nd morning,we realised we didn’t have another one. But I’m sure it was just an oversight!Other than that trivial complaint,everything was great!

Central location, comfy bed, somewhat old interior
Great location, 15 min walk or less to botanical gardens, circular quay, or darling harbor. Comfortable and clean bed. The handle and lock on the door was super loose and didn't seem secure. The inside was old which is fine but didn't seem the cleanest. There was a coke bottle under my bed and the bathroom tile was very old. There was an ice machine which was a bonus for Australia.
