Didn't feel like an upgrade to us when all we wanted was a bigger bed like home. Staff member was stressed when we got there so she wasn't the friendliest. Hotel needs a lot of updating & fixes. We had to unplug a microwave & a lamp to get plug-ins that worked for our phones. Fridge didn't run at all."

However, I wouldn’t say this hotel is really “pet friendly.” The pet area has no grass and is all dirt and right on top of a hill. Their pet policy says that you can’t leave the dogs at the hotel unless you are there which honestly defeats the purpose of being a pet friendly hotel. "Probably the best deal in Deadwood Colorado. My stay was in June 2026 room was immaculate staff at the desk and in the restaurant or top-notch. Won a few bucks in the casino as well. The restaurant has a 16 ounce T-bone dinner for $12.99 along with other cheap eats like a breakfast egg Benedict McMuffin sandwich for $2.99. I really enjoyed my stay. Whoever manages this place does a great job."

"On arrival parking was atrocious, directed to another lot, while it was hailing. Front desk clerk was not helpful at all, had a bit of an attitude and did not assist with assigning a proper room. The hotel appears newish. Half the rooms are on the busy highway, and windows do not block sound. My friend stayed in room on the old Main Street, and was woken by horses walking by at 530.
