"WHAT A FIND! When I was first looking for somewhere to stay in Stromness I have to admit that I was quite disappointed not to be able to find anywhere overlooking the harbour. Then I saw 'Withy Gill' listed on the website and booked for a 4 night stay in August. Having now had our holiday and wandered round Orkney and Stromness, how glad am I that I found it ! Simon the host contacted us a few times before our trip and always responded to any queries we had. The cottage itself is great, exactly as the description with lovely views over to the Hills of Hoy. The interior was immaculate and the furniture looks brand new, it is warm, cosy and somewhere I could quite happily live in with everything you need (including little extras like a welcome pack, the binoculars in the kitchen, games, reading books and snuggly throws in the living room :)) We will be returning to Orkney in the future and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else."

"The owner was so warm, hospitable, and willing to help with any problems I had. He really went out t of his way to make me feel comfortable and cared for. Breakfast was wonderful---lots of hotels and cold choices in a clean, cozy breakfast room. Parking lot was easy to enter and leave with ample space for all cars."

"This was expensive for what it was but I guess there are a lot of tourists in Orkney and not a lot of accommodation! Over ยฃ200 a night for a small room, double bed (not king). The rate did include breakfast, which was adequate (order from list the night before). The hotel did have a restaurant - food was fine - and a bar and friendly barman. Staff were lovely altogether. I have never been to Orkney before so canโ€™t make any comparisons but I suspect this may be among the better places to stay. Lots of room to park the car. Sea view."

"We loved the tour of the facility and our room. Help with parking was so useful for ease of getting out of the lot. My wife needed medicine kept cold and ice packs frozen and had no issues having this done for us. Because we were leaving before breakfast a to go meal was provided for us."
