"The Strathy Inn is the kind of place where you feel like youโ€™re staying with friends - extremely hospitable ones! It doesnโ€™t look much from the outside and is not in one of the bigger villages but the rooms are very clean, cosy and comfortable and have everything you need. The bed was one of the best weโ€™ve slept in on our trip around North Scotland. Meals are also home cooked and delicious. I would highly recommend a stay here."

"This hotel does not have an elevator but the staff were more than willing to carry our bags upstairs for us. The restaurant was very busy with locals as well as travellers. The food was very good. It is also across the street from Tesco if you need to pick up anything."

"What a place to stay at Garvault House! It's literally in the middle of nowhere, no light pollution and views of pure wilderness for miles around- amazing location. Food provided was very tasty and dinner becomes a very social setting where everyone is on the dining table, although you can sit privately next door if you wished! Rooms could do with a bit of modernising albeit not too much to take away from the charm of this 'off grid' location. No TVs either, but WiFi and phone signal still good if that bothers you during your stay"

"A fantastic find! An idyllic treat in stunning scenery. It's so quiet! Andrea, the host, was lovely and introduced me to her property with such pride that I felt right at home. Bed was incredibly comfortable and the hot tub was a huge treat!"
