Very Accommodating
The rooms in our suite were lovely and the beds were comfortable. Our hosts showed us how to get to the theater as well as the building where breakfast was. We drove to both, but they were walking distance. I wasn't sure if we would be able to get breakfast because we had to leave relatively early, but even though it was made to order, they were quick in getting it to us. They were even kind enough to let us start a little early (I had emailed them before telling them we had to be on the road before 8:20), which I appreciated. The breakfast was very good and I made it to my next destination on time.

What a lovely b&b with lovely hosts, spacious 2 bedroom suite with pretty furnishings and prints, spotless updated bathroom, great comfy beds, and in a great location! Perfect for our Stratford visit!!

We rented a two-bedroom suite at the Dufton House, a second property for those who run the Stone Maiden Inn. It was clean and fine. The house is located on a nice street about 1.5km from the Festival Theatre. The beds were comfortable and the shower was excellent. The suite was very clean and quiet. It wasn't clear to us on booking that we were staying at the Dufton House rather than the Stone Maiden so would suggest clarifying. The rooms are not overly large and the style of decor is eclectic with a lot of antique furniture, much of it more for show than comfort or utility - not really my taste but quite traditional for a bed and breakfast.

Guests should be reviewed as well as Inns. These guests would get a 0 out of 5. They are banned and would have been removed if they were not Expedia guests, and is one of the reasons we don't like using Expedia.

The room was very clean and well laid out. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet. Parking on the street right in front of the building was very convenient. The price was very reasonable. The location was close to everything. No complaints.

Dufton House is a charming older building a few blocks north of the river and downtown. Our suite, which included bedroom, bathroom, and small kitchenette, was elegantly appointed and well maintained. It was a charming place to stay for a long weekend, and Johanne and Tim were gracious hosts. The daily gourmet breakfast was served at a separate, equally delightful property about a ten-minute walk away. My only suggestion would be that coffee (in addition to tea bags) be provided for the Keurig coffee maker in the kitchenette.

Fantastic Place to Stay!
This was a fantastic place to stay. It was close to town, and quiet and comfortable. We had a king bed in one room and a queen in the other and a sunroom with a garden view.....it was wonderful. Oh, and the BEST shower ever! Nice full stream of water in what looked like a fairly newly rennovated glassed in shower.....fantastic....loved it......I would definitely stay there again!

We were very pleased with our experience, easy walk to theatres and downtown. Tim helped us get a last minute dinner reservation at Bijou which is a great little restaurant and was happy to extend our checkout time as it was Sunday. Lovely breakfast but you do have to go to their main building about 10 minute walk or you can drive and they have ample parking.

not so good
i had stayed at the sister property (Stone Maiden Inn) and enjoyed it, but was disappointed this time. Although they promise breakfast, it is not on the premises. Walk 900 metres (11 minutes) to get there. As i was with a friend who couldn't walk, they brought it to us: cold, unappetizing, no choices. Public rooms at the other property are fine; at this one there is a cramped porch with stained carpet and tiny frig. Public areas are outside, and so not good at night or in rainy/cold weather. Moreover, they promise daily housekeeping and my bed was not made the second day. Old towels left in the bathroom. The sliding door came off the bathroom the first time i used it (and stayed off for the day). The wifi was not reliable. When I provided feedback, they were angry, not helpful. It's expensive for what it is (no elevator, walk up steep stairs and around two corners, parking on the street, a bedspread not a duvet). I'll look for somewhere better next time.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. You had a two bedroom suite completely renovate one year ago with a queen bed and a king bed. Housekeeping was done on the room. We never deliver breakfast, it is served at the other inn and we brought it to you as a courtesy. The porch is a 7x12 sun room and is an amenity to the suite. The carpet is not stained, and when all your comments were addressed as false, you admitted it and said oh well.... There was housekeeping and it is policy at ALL hotels that if the towels are not on the floor, they are considered useable for a second day. The same at our other property. It is the least expensive brand new two bedroom suite in Stratford. Parking on the street is a convenience and parking is available in the driveway. The beds are very comfortable and all previous review are very positive about this accommodation.

Charming Bed and breakfast near Stratford theatres
A beautiful historic brick house surrounded by gardens in a residential neighbourhood within easy walking distance of the Stratford theatres and restaurants. The room was, clean clean, private and quiet. Free street parking. Free Wifi. Care was taken to appoint the room with interesting personal artifacts and art work. There is a mature garden, slightly over run, appointed with chairs and tables. Note there are stairs. I would definitely go there again.

Great breakfast. Nice room but lots of stairs and unfortunately, got locked out of home one night. Host was gracious and discovered a fellow guest had done this in error. We strongly recommended a sign on inside of door to ensure this did not happen to others.

Lovely location
Great location, beautiful grounds. There was some mix-up about the type of room but it was easily remedied and very satisfactory for us. Walking distance to everything which was a bonus.

Bed and Breakfast close to Stratford Downtown
We had a great experience at Dufton House. We were warmly greeted. The room was large with an attached kitchenette and private bathroom. Very cozy. Breakfast the next day was very good, eggs Benedict, raspberry scones with marmalade and fresh fruit. The breakfast was not at Dufton House but at the Stone Maiden Inn (which was very lovely as well) a short drive away. The only drawback we could see is if you had some mobility issues with stairs our suite at Dufton House was at the top of a good flight of stairs

Lovely property in need of just a little TLC
Fantastic location, very friendly staff/proprietor, and nice, very comfortable rooms. We were happy staying here, although a few things need to be better maintained/fixed (cleaning of bathroom wall beside the sink, bathroom sink not draining properly, creaky bed, screen in window that was bowed and had a fairly large gap). With the exception of the one bathroom wall, everything else was VERY clean, I would like to note, and we were very happy overall.

Breakfast and Staff are amazing
Joanne and Tim are welcoming and gracious. The two room suite is spacious. There is a cute upstais porch and gorgeous new outside deck to sit and consume beverages on. I love a soft bed with lots of pillows, so I was very happy. My sister found the bed too soft. The breakfast, served at another house close by, was delicious. They were even prepared for our vegan company. Wifi comes in and out, so if you want to spend a lot of time playing games on your phone, you will be frustrated.

Dufton House is an annex to the Stone Maiden Inn in a different but convenient location. It is an old house and the style of the rooms is Victorian but with modern comforts and amenities. Among Stratford bed and breakfasts we have stayed in, it ranks high.

Thanks - we are tackling the exterior right after the season. We did all the inside work we could before the start and just barely got the new deck finished, but we will be putting special effort into the grounds and building in the fall.

Thanksgiving Getaway Weekend
We stayed for two nights in a lovely apartment with two comfortable bedrooms, kitchen and bath. There was more space than we expected and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast on the first morning was in the classic Stone Maiden Inn dining room. The next morning we had breakfast sandwiches in the apartment as the dining room is closed on Monday. The host was interested in our visit and found a Thanksgiving dinner for us at a local restaurant!

Perfect place for a visit to Stratford
With moderate prices by the standards of Stratford in high season, Dufton House surprised us with comfort, convenience and charm. Our suite (Suite A) was immaculate, tastefully furnished and had plenty of space for the two of us. The kitchenette was fully equipped for our needs, the bathroom well stocked with toiletries. The breakfast is served in a property about a 15 minute walk away, but is elegant and delicious enough to be worth the walk. The innkeepers, Tim ang Joanne, are on the premises, extremely obliging, and maintain high standards. We would be happy to come back.

Great room with lots of space and a well prepared breakfast at the Stone Maiden Inn. My only suggestion is to have clearer check-in instructions. This is a self check-in B&B but the address was labelled as "#12" but should have read "#14". We called the owner upon our arrival but he didn't answer (or return our call for that matter at any point after) to find out how we could get in as the door was locked. It's only after a neighbour/tenant showed us in that we managed to make our way and find our room.

checking in was strange, no one there to greet or take our documentation, when someone appeared, they did not introduce them selves as staff of the B&B, and did not want to take our credit card for their files. Next day we where out exploring the area and found a panic note about getting our information. It was very odd. Overall a great room, lots of carracter and clean.

Quiet neighborhood, but not really walking distance to the theaters. Continental breakfast left much to be desired. Much better housing options for the dollar than Dufton House in Stratford.

We had an awesome time in Statford and the Dufton House. It was the most comfortable stay Ive ever had room was elegant and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Most enjoyable was coming back to the house at end of day and sitting on the beautiful porch relaxing and enjoying the awesome gardens. We will be going back
