Aqualodges was a unique, great experience. Really enjoyed the marine life right at our dock. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Cant wait to come back!

There was absolutely no water pressure for showering. Pretty much had to splash the water onto yourself as it just ran down the wall from the spout. German cockroaches were in the kitchenette area

Robert: I wish we had the opportunity to address the water pressure. While we spray the lodges monthly, it is a challenge in our marine environment. I do appreciate your feedback.

Irma: I'm glad your family enjoyed your stay. Since we're a working marina surrounded by nature, we have found that kids especially enjoy the sharks, tarpon, manatees, iguanas, etc.

Beautiful as always, always an amazing stay. Literally the only place we stay in Key West. We love waking up in an aquarium and the social enviroment and sense of community is amazing. Everyone is always welcome at Hurricane Hole.

This property is located at a local working marina that fishing charters leave from. They clean their catch right on the dock down from the houseboat. There was a fishy smell most of the time. That did not bother us because we knew where it came from. Daily my 4 year old grandson got to see sharks, jelly fish and pelicans in the harbor! We also spotted manatee several days. They would swim right off the porch of our unit! Boat rental and other water sport rentals was on the dock connected to the units. We would stay here again.

If staying in a houseboat overnight is on your bucket list, then you will enjoy it. I liked everything but the parking. Restaurant gets a lot of customers, and I had a lot of trouble finding a spot. Also, parking lot needs to be paved. Muddy when it rains. No regrets!

This is a unique opportunity to stay on a houseboat. It's right next to the highway and is part of a working marina so some noise, but really not too bad. Bar closes at 10 or 11pm...great food too! We loved the iguanas, birds and there are at least 6 resident nurse sharks at cleaning station and one day the manatees even came in!! Boat was very clean and us 3 older ladies felt safe the whole time. Highly recommend trying it!

Meh... not for me
No contact rental which is fine but...1. the roof was leaking 2. Roaches... we never took our clothes out of our suitcases for fear of bringing them back home so, 5 days living out of a suitcase sucked. 3. Shower leaked into the bedroom so we had to keep a towel on the floor to absorb the water when someone showered. 4. We were given stricked rules of no noise after 10pm but someone was partying until 5am... Was it slightly cheaper than the local hotels...yes, but definitely not worth it. Next time we will spend the extra. Cool concept but not for all the issues.

Chris / Bonnie: I'm dismayed to read your review. I wish we had the opportunity to address these issues while you were her. Also, we could have moved you to another lodge. I do appreciate the feedback and will make a point to let guests know that there are personnel onsite daily to assist lodge guests.

The marina can get noisy and we had super noisy party neighbors, they stacked seven people into their unit and didn’t sleep until dawn

Awesome house boats. Great bar and restaurant right next door (they close at ten so it’s absolutely quiet at night) Clean, comfortable.

La péniche est extrêmement sale. Nous avons dû enlever la MOUSSE de poussière sur les cadrage de Fenetre afin de pouvoir ouvrir les fenêtres. Il y a la porte potio qui ne barre pas donc comme sécurité c’est pas fort. Odeur indésirable dans la péniche . Literie douteuse!! Les édredons sur les lits sont poussiéreuse, tu bouges les rideaux des fenêtres et la poussière tombe . Domage car ça beaucoup de potentiel mais c’est trop mal entretenu et très négligé. Loin d’être comme sur les photos sur le site. D’ailleurs le gérant hier m’en a parlé et disait vouloir que les photos soient changé. Je voyage vraiment beaucoup et j’aime pas faire de commentaires négatifs mais là je crois qu’il le faut car quand tu as mal au cœur de juste être dans l’endroit tellement ça l’air d’un camp de chasse poussiéreux il faut le dire. C’est 525$ la nuit pour ça !!

The Aqua Lodges are docked in Hurricane Hole marina. A small marina where local fishermen bring charters. We enjoyed having morning coffee on our deck and watched the manatees and pelicans swim around us.

This property is amazing for the price. Be warned the sleeping loft may only be safe for children as the overhead room was minimal. The restaurant on site was fantastic, the staff super friendly and it was easy to get an Uber anywhere. If you choose to rent a car there is plenty of parking on site. One review we read complained about the noise of a working marine. We heard none. Overall a great place to stay. FYI. If you have any mobility issues let them know. Most boats have a ramp but a few do not.

Needs blackout curtains in bedrooms. Between the dock lights and sun rising at 6:00am it was difficult to sleep. Restaurant nearby at the marina had great food. Extra or thicker towels would have been nice. It was clean and quiet.

If you're looking for something unique, different, quiet and safe in Key West, I totally recommend this place. Plus you get to see manatees, all kinds of fish including sharks right from your balcony area, this is the place for you. I loved it.

Loved these adorable little homes on the water. So easy to find and get into. Loved having a restaurant right there and enjoyed a delicious dinner with my daughter. I would highly recommend! Only suggestion would be to add that the 2nd bed was in the loft…and that bed wasn’t made…even though they knew there were 2 people staying. Glad my kiddo was young or that would have been a fun night of drawing straws!

The location of our house was moved and was near the incoming of the other boats. Was constant moving of our boathouse. The lights outside at the restaurant and patio were left on all night. Window coverings were poor mini blinds allowing light into the house all night. A dumpster was near the walkway and was stinky. The mattresses were thin and hard, with very thin bed quilts. Couch was very uncomfortable.

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, there isn't anything that can be done about movement of the houseboats, they are on the water. As for the location of the boats we sent out notices to everyone that they had been moved to the front dock awhile ago. Regarding the other issues we will take your concerns into consideration moving forward. Thanks for staying with us.

Would have been 5 star but… The setting was beautiful with restaurant and bar in the marina. The houseboat was clean and cute but when you opened the sliding glass door you were slammed in the face with a very strong mothball odor. It actually took my breath away. I coughed and choked for 10 minutes. We had to open all the doors to try and air it out. Later that first night I grabbed an extra pillow from the closet by sliding glass door only to again choke and cough for 15 minutes. The odor was absorbed into the pillow itself. It did seemed to have dissipated or we got used to the odor… that is until we got home. Our suitcases, hair dryer and clothes smelled exactly like mothballs. Absolutely everything we brought had to be washed, whether worn or not, and or Febreeze and left out in garage overnight. While we loved the houseboat, we will not be returning until the choice of mothball use has been eliminated.

Best/Worst place I have ever stayed
The place is cool, no doubt. The location is great and we even rented a boat for 25% off from them which was awesome. But the house boat absolutely reeked of that old people smell we all know... All of my stuff still smells and it is stinking up my house at home. I have to replace my backpack and other items that I couldn't get it off of. And the shower didn't work. It is not worth it...
