"View from our room was super! We had a great night sleep. Clean, nice bed. Shower was a deluge of soft, hot water. Beautiful flower paths and benches lining the ridge overlooking the Columbia River. It’s a nice spot."
"Love this place and happy to be going there since it opened over 30 years ago
It’s changed overtime with multiple different owners. Overall, this pace is still to out liking despite lack of the woodburning for our place, the resort fee and more recently the parking fee.
In this particular case, the checkout staff was rude. We Asked for a late checkout (Mothers Day). After almost being berated, we were begrudgingly given until 11:30 AM. Then, I went from the front desk to the room and the key didn’t work. Then housekeeping knocked. This is on a Sunday so you know it’s not busy on a Sunday night. Not normal but annoying.

"Initial feeling was a below average decor and room feel. Great hot tub. Until the power went out around 1130pm. Then we were woken from our sleep at 130am with staff pounding on the doors and yelling evacuate the building. I opened the door and a staff member told myself and the across the hall neighbor we needed to evacuate. When we asked why she left and said I’ll look into it further. I got dressed and went to the hall where I was greeted by three firemen that stated they received a fire alarm and were checking for gas. I asked if we should leave and they responded we will be done shortly. I went back to my room and waited. Made several calls to the front desk with no response. Power came back on and still no word. Couldn’t find anyone at the front desk or responding to desk calls. Multiple guests looked confused. Waited in my room as the fire trucks left and never was re contacted. Could not get back to sleep until the sun rose then approached the front desk in the morning to get answers and possibly a comp for the evening and the desk worker stated “power was out all over that’s not our problem.” When I explained the yelling for evacuation and no explanation, clerk looked at me like “ what do you want us to do.” I asked for a manager and was told I would receive a call which never came. I will not go back. Over priced and horrible attention to detail."
"We were disappointed with our stay at Carson Resort. We specifically booked a certain bed/room configuration, but after checking in a getting to our room it was not what we had reserved. There was no communication about this change prior to arrival or even when checking in face to face at the front desk. When approaching the front desk about this issue they were very dismissive and non apologetic.
To make matters worse, the fire alarm in our room kept going off multiple times throughout the night sporadically, making it almost impossible to get any decent sleep. Between the lack of communication, poor customer service, and constant disruptions overnight, the stay was far from relaxing. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again based on this experience."
"We really enjoyed our stay at the Lightwell. The spa is amazing, the staff friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean. We also loved that there is a lounge, a rooftop bar, and the hotel is conveniently located. Just be aware that the rooms are smaller than usual and there are no refrigerators in the rooms. But this is our new favorite place to stay in Hood River!"
"Great property with stellar views next to an iconic hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and parking was easy. No elevator so keep that in mind! Easy access to neighboring hotels and downtown. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. I felt the rate was reasonable. We usually stay on the other side of Hood River so this was a fun change. We’ll be back! "
