Stayed several times at the Oakwood. . Low priced. Close to downtown - several good restaurants. I like the town. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom kinda rough.
We were very pleasantly surprised to find the room had a full kitchen, including dishes, utensils and pans for 2. Beds were comfortable, would be perfect for an extended stay.
Not the prettiest property, but inside the room is comfortable, clean, and updated. The beds are very comfortable. I like to stay here whenever I come to Sterling. A no frill, but adequate place to stay.
I hate to leave a review because I want this place to be my little secret! The Oakwood is just a perfect little motel. I stay here often and it is always exactly perfect. The room had been recently remodeled- lovely soft carpet and a wonderful bath. It is always clean and quiet. The owner is always responsive by text- so convenient to just get a key code so I can arrive whenever and not worry about a check in time.
It’s my favorite motel in my favorite place!
This place is a little gem, with a great price! The exterior might not match the lovely interior, but the value of this place is by far the best around. You'll find an accommodating host, updated amenities and a comfy bed!
The property looks old and rundown on the outside, but don’t be fooled. The rooms are wonderful. Updated with cute refrigerators and microwaves, nice carpeting, and comfortable memory foam beds. I would stay here again if a minute.
Get what you pay for. The parking lot is right off the main street and across from the railroad depot. However, the room is very, very clean. Very comfortable memory foam beds, sparkling clean white sheets. We were travelling and this was perfect.
Very noisy. Walls are very thin. Can hear neighbors talking and music at 5:30 am. Traffic is loud as the hotel is on a busy street. Had the worse night sleep ever in a motel. Do not recommend
The hotel itself is older. Room was adequate, but it’s hard to make it look nice when it’s old. Towels & washcloth were changed each day. No breakfast. It worked, but I wouldn’t chose this if I had it to do over.
A perfect stopover during my long drive home. I enjoyed being able to head right up to my room without a usual check in procedure. Very quiet, clean, cute and comfortable. Highly recommended!
Exterior needs upgrade e.g. painting. Poor proximity to noisy railroad tracks/large vehicle route. No person check-in/staff does not allow for information/recommendations e.g dinner/routes etc Not even a packaged breakfast. Room (118) largely very good re cleanliness, amenities with following exceptions: lots of room for 2nd end table/light for 2nd person trying to read in bed; had to move desk for access to nearby plug-in for computer.
