Staff were extremely helpful, loved Johanne.
Location was good for easy access to most places.
Bed was extremely uncomfortable awful.
Pool area and bar were great
The staff was very friendly and the gym was a great addition. The pool side is very relaxing and it is conviently located to get to many different beach areas around the island. Would rebook again when returning to Malta.
Kitchen was great - TV worked well - lovely pool though too cold yet to swim
loved having the Coop shop around the corner for easy buying of a meal etc

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Hotel staff were as nice and helpful as ever. However, a bit disappointed with the pool area. No supervision to stop diving and rough play, including several balls (not beach balls). Also, a lot of alcohol drinking (including glass bottles) in the pool itself.
Also, the pool water quality is not so good, and the water was murky most of the time.
Good option with good standard rooms if you're ok to "commute" to the attractions in and around St Paul's bay (or stick to the pool area all day), location has limited food options within walking distance. Room has a kitchen (upgraded maybe) with kettle, microwave, stove and sink but no tea or coffee is provided so bring some as prices will be inflated.

Unfortunately, our stay at Xemxija Bay Hotel was disappointing overall. The hotel is clearly showing its age and is in need of significant refurbishment. The rooms were very basic, and many of the fixtures and fittings were damaged or badly worn. We found ripped chairs, damaged cupboards, and furniture that looked well past its best.
The towels provided were threadbare and stained in places, although they were freshly laundered and replaced every day. The general condition of the accommodation did not match our expectations and left the impression that maintenance and investment in the rooms have been neglected.
That said, the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and was undoubtedly the strongest aspect of our stay. Our cleaner on our floor was exceptional. The room was cleaned daily and always to a very high standard, which we greatly appreciated.
We also experienced a couple of maintenance issues when the air conditioning stopped working and an exterior light failed. The maintenance gentleman responded immediately, rectified both problems quickly, and was extremely helpful and professional throughout. The staff at the pool bar were wonderful, nothing too much trouble.
In summary, while the hotel's cleanliness and the dedication of the housekeeping and maintenance staff deserve praise, the overall condition of the rooms and furnishings lets the property down considerably. With investment and refurbishment, this hotel could offer a much better guest experience
A bit old hotel. Mostly used by partying teens.
Be warned that pool passes are sold without a limit. On weekends it is impossible to get a pool spot without towel reservation early in the morning. Pool also gets really crowded with no room to do anything. My kids didn’t even want to go in as it was so full.
Breakfast is really bleak with limited options. Vegan options were almost none existent. Got yoghurt and dairy free butter after the next day. On the plus side we had a fridge in the room.
Aircon you can not set speed or temperature. It is fixed and very old and loud. Beds solid as a rock.
Very nice trails behind the hotel with lots of historic remains that you can go inside and explore. Definitely recommend visiting those!
Relaxing One-Night Stay
We stayed at Xemxija Bay Hotel for one night and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely pool view, which made it feel even more relaxing. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. The hotel is in a peaceful area but still close to local restaurants and scenic walks. A great spot for a short getaway—would happily return!

It was great stay with nice pool, however checkin had an issue and it took a bit
Great place to stay as a solo traveler peaceful plenty of sun beds lovely pool clean good sized room with a little balcony. Special thanks to Jacob for putting sun lotion on my back (solo traveler) and just a genuine polite young man an absolute asset to your hotel and to Stephan on reception for your kindness on my last evening and as I had booked early I had complimentary breakfast I’ve had a great stay!
Friendly, welcoming staff. A comfortable stay, although the apartment could use some plates, cutlery etc. A lovely pool and convenient bar, restaurant. A bit out of town but buses are regular.
We had a very good experience. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The room was spotlessly clean, the pool was so nice and I loved that there were umbrellas for shade. The balcony was a great addition. The beds could have been more comfortable but not bad. The A/C in the room was excellent
Staff were excellent. Check in smooth. A problem with the AC in the room not working was delt with very promptly. Comfortable room and very close to the main bus route.
Great base for Family holiday, everything you need only a short bus ride away gorgeous setting of St. Paul’s bay and small pool and bar area If prefer staying by the pool Stayed in two bed apartment on 4th floor there is a small lift but the kids preferred the stairs, apartment had everything you needed for family and fresh towels and housing keeping daily staff were helpful and friendly would highly recommend
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dining was convenient and quantuty was good. Will say food was a little bland. My only real complaint was the hill that gad to be negotiated wgen heading for the bus and the distance to the beach. Pool was nice. A hot tub would be a giod addition. When construction is done it will be even better.
The location is great with the bus stops, view, convenient store, and quick food options like eeetwell!
The staff was kind & hotel was also fine. The room I had was okay, no view, but everything functioned.
I didn't check out the pool or their meal options, but basic English breakfast was offered for €10. They also allowed baggage storage.
It was good for my 1 night stay.

I booked a very basic room, I stayed from 29Jan to 1Feb 2026 (narrowly missing the storm that hit Malta the week before)
The automatic heating timer was no ideal, as it got very cold at night and the room was cold.
The breakfast was not worth it, would recommend to go to a local cafe that will be better and worth the price!
The location of the hotel is amazing, as soon as you leave you a greeted with an amazing view of the Mediterranean sea
Overall an Okay experience of the hotel, the staff were nice, (limited interactions with them)
I did not try the bar or other amenities of the hotel, (I want to go back to Malta again during May or September to truly experience the islands, I will book this hotel again (decent price) and review in the future
This hotel for me was In a great location, the price was excellent for a week’s stay. The pool and outdoor restaurant were really good. I did have breakfast once and it was 10 euro and it had a great selection of food and drinks. All the staff I met and interacted with were amazing. The only negative I’d have to say is the comfort of the beds, I even asked other guests to ensure it wasn’t just my room, but the mattress’s are horrible, I mean if your out all day and want a good nights sleep, you won’t get it. Luckily I had two beds in my room and being a solo traveler I took all the bedding plus my extra bathroom towels and put them down on top of the mattress to make it a little more bearable. Anyways besides the bad beds everything else was great here.
