"An older hotel with a lot of charm right across from the promenade. However, plug-ins for phones were limited and we were grateful to upgrade to a larger room as it was still rather tight. Nice staff and great location."

"We stayed 2 nights and had a good night's sleep both nights. We had breakfast on the last morning, and that was excellent. The hotel is being refurbished externally and is having a new roof, so the building is covered in scaffolding. Clearly, this isn't attractive; however, it shows the hotel is taking its final appearance seriously and ensuring that the hotel is in good condition. "

"Our room was an outdated, slanted roof room with just enough space for a double bed. The bathroom was something out of the 70's and this is not reflected in the photographs of the property. The room was clean but the windows glazing had blown and was growing mushrooms inside the pain. My partner stood on a nail in the room and when reception was told about this they did not care or react as if it was unheard of. When I asked about a partial refund I was told that 'It was good enough to sleep there' I had not wanted to complain at the time of check in as we had been traveling all day and not got to the hotel until 11pm! NEVER AGAIN"

"The room was lovely clean and warm. Dinner was one of the best meals my wife and I have enjoyed for some time and the staff were very friendly,helpful and welcoming. We will return there again and would definitely recommend it."

"The main building, bar and restaurant are lovely and the parking is also good. Staff are friendly if perhaps not always immediately available. However, the room was distinctly average, or perhaps not worth the money paid. There was a strange smell in the room, which was worse in the heavily dated bathroom. Furnishings felt dated and completely out of character with the nicely decorated and furnished main areas. The window had no view at all and was even partly obscured glass, adding to the uncomfortable ambience of the room. The room lighting was harsh also. An arrival one of the windows in the room was open, usually an acknowledgement that the room has an unpleasant odour. On the positive side there were plenty of plug sockets. The breakfast was average. Specific requests such as crispy bacon were ignored by the chef which is disappointing and the coffee wasn't great. Some items were missing from the buffet also, but mentioned on the menu. It was a lovely place to have breakfast though with nice views. Overall it was a bit of a disappointment as it could have been so much better."

"Good points: the flat is massive and has lots of space as well as ample on road parking. The area is quiet and safe. It's mostly clean and tidy although could do with a clean behind beds etc. The bad points - the main bedroom curtains are paper thin so light comes in early. The noise insulation between upstairs and the flat isn't great. The bath plughole needs replacing as it's impossible to remove without using a knife to slide it out. The TV is on its way out as watching anything remotely dark is likely watching through goggles. Frustratingly all these things could be fixed very cheaply. I loved the area but not sure we would return to Treetops."

Check-in was speedy and effortless, and supported by lovely reception lady who was super helpful and friendly throughout stay; Highly professional, helpful staff throughout the hotel; lovely selection at breakfast and beautifully presented cooked food to order; truly lovely food options for evening dinner, served by welcoming staff. Room was similarly finished to the highest standards and super comfortable and clean. Housekeeping staff even nipped in during breakfast first morning and turned everything around and added new supplies, towels, coffee, etc. immaculate! "
