Heaven on Earth, clubbed into a resort
We are seasoned luxury travellers having been to Europe, North America, Asia.
The stay at Khyber would still rank among my top 3 stays at resorts of all time.
Really memorable experiences include the Christmas surprise gifts, the Christmas Eve Gala Dinner with a memorable live performance by Mr Abid Ali.
Rooms were extremely clean, well maintained, with nice view of the Apharwat and other peaks even from the basic category rooms.
Very attentive staff in every restaurant. Special mention to the maître d’hôtel Salma, who attended to us at every meal.
Try out their new Italian restaurant Brava.
If I am back in Kashmir again, I am certain to book a few nights again at the Khyber.

Not worth the price paid!
Fantastic property with stunning views and large rooms. The experience was shredded apart with terrible service standards and their nonchalant staff.
This property could be so much better if their hired some professional staff and actually paid attention to their guests.
Food was also terrible for a 5-star luxury property.
Totally not worth the price paid.

Overrated property. Not worth for non-snowy months
Khyber is highly overated. Definitely not worth what we pay for it. My feedback is in the non-snowy season. We visited in sept. We had booked a premier room. Room is not upto the mark and does not live up to hype and per night pricing, many things in the room are too basic. The bathroom is luxurious and nicely done. Breakfast is excellent with umteen options. The dinner buffet food is not worth the pricing. The hospitality is basic.
Have stayed in similar premium priced properties like wild flower hall shimla, taj rambagh palace, taj faluknama, oberoi vanya vilas where the rooms , hospitality and warmth of staff , food taste cannot be compared to khyber.

the hotel was exactly as promised and much more due to the surrounding beauty. within the hotel there are plenty of activities and the location is also closeby to all local attractions. I couldnt get any mobile network and the hotel wi-fi is very poor, I guess it helps in the term completely switch off :)

It is a beautiful hotel that is well situated and offers stunning views of the mountains. However the service in the restuarant was not up to par for a 5 star hotel. The staff were not friendly. However we needed a doctor and the service was excellent and efficient.

What an exceptional hotel in an exceptional place. Nothing was too much for The hotel staff and management. We sent an email to the reservations department to decorate our parents room for our fathers 60th birthday and parents anniversary and as a surprise and they not only kept the secret very well but made it all the better with an exceptional cake and extremely well decorated bed. I can’t thank them enough for their hospitality and service for everything from the front desk through to the spa. It was an amazing experience - the only regret is we didn’t have a few more nights there. Will definitely be coming back!!! Thank you

Don’t Do It!
This is the worst service I’ve received at ANY hotel, let alone one with pretenses of being 5-star. If I were feeling generous, I´d say that every person working here seems to be a trainee. But, I´m not. Here is only a snapshot as to why:
There is a “please service” light, that I have foolishly attempted to use to signal housekeeping, before leaving my room for 3-5 hours in the late mornings/afternoons; not once in three attempts has the room been cleaned, even when I also call housekeeping. Today, after returning again to find the room exactly as I’d left it, I called down and asked for it to be cleaned right away. When I returned after 45 mins, they’d left MY DOOOR OPEN. (BTW, where did I go for 45 mins? The much touted sauna/steam room. When I arrived, there was no attendant, no towels, no water, and both the sauna and steam room were turned off. This was 3:00pm.)
Upon returning to my open room, relieved not be robbed or murdered, I felt a bit peckish. So, at 4:15pm, I called down to order from the “1130 to 2230” section of the in room dining menu. As I begin to order soup, the person taking my order, informs me they are only doing “The all day menu...sandwiches, pizza...” But, I say, I’m ordering from the regular menu, within the indicated hours? He says the kitchen is closed. Fine. I point out that the menu is incorrect, but whatever. This man then has the audacity to SIGH like he’s doing me a FAVOR, and say, “Ok, ok. You want soup?”
I hung up & came here.

Beautiful hotel in the lap of mountains
Hotel staff is friendly, rooms and amenities are excellent. Heating system and altitude can get to you on a longer stay but the views more than makeup for it.
Only unpleasent experience was the airport pickup and dropoff service. The guys who manage it seems least concerned of providing service and more concerned about making money.

The best property in Gulmarg, this Hotel is a god sent gift to Indians looking to escape into luxury and tranquility with beautiful views of the snow clad mountains (Affarwat Range of Himalayas) and the Gulmarg valley. A centrally Heated Five Star Hotel with excellent management and staff which take care of all the needs of todays discerning traveller.
We were lucky to find snow as it had fallen only a day before our arrival to Gulmarg so it was all white when we arrived. The Hotel is situated near to the Gondola so it is very convenient location.
Comfort - The Hotel is very well equipped with all facilities including lovely SPA, heated swimming pool, gym, children play area, large open lobby with stunning valley views, all day chai lounge (chaikash), fab restaurant, room service, equipment room at entrance where one can stow away the ski equipment, boots and coats.
Room - Recommend the balcony room with Mountain Views which has large bath tubs in the bathroom, walk in cabinet, separate shower area, a working desk, sufficient lighting, very comfortable bed, large screen Samsung TV and all amenities required for a comfortable stay in paradise land Gulmarg.
Food - The hotel has excellent south indian live counters in breakfast with lavish spread of indian, continental and bakery items. The lunch/dinner/all day dining has a feast of Continental, Chinese, Kahsmiri food.
A heavenly experience @Khyber Gulmarg. Highly recommend !!
