"Buffet breakfast is excellent and one can load up and skip lunch. However, they have lunch specials which are also worthwhile . The best vegetarian lasagna I have ever had, any where. And the restaurant itself is charming, full of plants and friendly atmosphere."

Reception is amazing, the staff are amazing, the giant (stuffed) polar bear amazing (don’t expect to see a real one, then you won’t be disappointed). "Excellent experience at the Svalbard Lodge. Room was clean, although a little outdated. Loved having a washer. The staff was great. We got tired of taking our shoes off every time we went from one building to the other, but that’s the way things are done in Longyearbyen. Dinner at the Polfareren was fabulous! It was a birthday trip and they made it special. "
