"The staff kindly upgraded and changed my room, which I appreciated, as the original room was not in acceptable condition. The hotel itself is quite old and is in desperate need of repairs and general maintenance. My new room was better than the dirty room I was first given, but it still had lifting floorboards, which showed the wear and tear throughout the property.
The hotel has a good location and plenty of potential, but it really needs a lot of attention and care. The steam room was not working during my stay, and the breakfast buffet should be covered to stop flies landing on the food. There was a good variety of breakfast options, but the hygiene issue was disappointing.
That said, the staff were friendly and did their best under the circumstances. They clearly work hard to manage the condition of the hotel, but the building itself needs significant investment and repair."
