"AMAZING staff. So incredibly warm and hospitable. 10/5 stars. I had a couple minor issues that were somewhat annoying. When I checked in I let staff know my room was missing a hairdryer and remote, and this was not replaced. Later than night I encountered a swarm of snails that had entered my unit. Of course not something hotel can control - it's the tropics. I asked to be moved to another room which was immediately accommodated. However upon arriving to the room I noticed there was no deadbolt....

"My husband and I could not fault The Islander. From the moment we checked in we felt like part of a large family. From the friendly smile and impeccable service from Serena at reception, to the amazing party vibe from Memory in the Hula Bar. To our wonderful friendly wait staff, bar staff, room turn over ladies. WOW JUST WOW. Meals ( breakfast, lunch and dinner were so tasty, fresh and very generous portions. Thanx chefs. Beds super comfy, shower was exceptional pressure. Meitaki Ma'ata...

"Great stay at Maitai Express Tahiti! The staff was excellent, and the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The location is perfect—close to the ferry pier, rental car agencies, and the local market. Private parking was also available, which made getting around very convenient. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tahiti!!"

"No amenities for children. No floaties, no events, no kids club, no pool toys, nothing. Some other reviewers said there was a kids club or program and that’s why we chose this place. There is none of this. Staff not warm, staff at restaurant could not be bothered, some walk very slowly with their heads down to avoid eye contact. Some staff very inexperienced. Pool towels? You will need to walk to the front check in desk, who will hand out towels and tell you there is a $20 fee if you do not...

You can learn so much about Fijian culture with the Fire Walkers, trip to the village, Kava ceremony, etc. The beach was beautiful and the rooms fantastic.
