"Comfortable cosy stay in lovely, clean cottage which is dog friendly. Situated minutes from shops meaning you can easily get your essentials or grab a drink in a lovely pub. Nice location and suitable base to drive to other parts of the region. The cottage was clean and presented as described. WiFi was excellent throughout ( I know that’s required for some, but not us) Has a small back garden, which is gated and perfect for dogs to stretch their legs."

"The cottage was gorgeous, in a lovely quiet location and parking at the back. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We only stayed a night but it had almost everything you'd need for a stay. A bit of soap in the bathroom and teatowel/towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen with some milk for a cuppa when you arrive would have made it perfect. "The staff ‘made’ our stay. Everyone was so friendly and took the time to have proper conversations with us. We were very well looked after and we felt that nothing was too much trouble for them. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts and noted that individual variations to the set menu were totally acceptable. We were impressed with the accessibility of the toilets and lift on the ground floor and our accessible room was ideal for our needs."

"We had a great time here, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean and comfortable. The hide a bed of course was very springy but that’s to be expected with a hide a bed haha. The only problems we had were the lack of drip coffee pot since we aren’t espresso drinkers, which the house keeper said she was in the process of getting them in the rooms. Our other problem was my fault for not requesting a lower floor when booking the room, we were up on the second floor and had lots of luggage so I had to haul it all up and down. So if you don’t do stairs well or will have lots of luggage, make sure you stay in the hotel or request a lower floor in the cloisters. The location is great since it’s off the Main Street it’s not too loud at night but it’s still nice and close to the bridge to go into the centre of town. I would definitely come stay here again if I’m back in York."
