The property has 20 or units that are older, small bungalows. The room I had was very clean (w/a bit too much of a cleaning solvent aroma) but well maintained. The property is a few blocks away from several bakeries and retail shops and as a result, is pretty quiet. The parking lot is pretty tucked away, private and felt secure. I would have rated higher but the tv remote control in my room wouldn’t allow me to scroll to the proper input channel and with no staff on site, I was out of luck.

Lovely Gardens. Nice Staff. Near Vintage Motorcycle Museum! Comfortable bed. Sanitizing or cleaning spray was a little too scented took hours to dissipate. Suggest moving couch to face TV and put chairs on wall facing gardens. Remove coffee table. I’m an Interior designer and the cottage is adorable. Thank you 😊

Couple things around the grounds were still in the process of being updated when we stayed there. We were also slightly inconvenienced by the lack of an accessible microwave. Still, the English garden was immaculate, and the location was ideal. Far enough away from the main shopping area to avoid the noise, and close enough to walk to in a few minutes. Would recommend.

Rooms are quite spacious with separate sitting & sleeping rooms. Good size bathroom. Furniture could use some TLC but it was functional. Hardwood floors can be noisy. An area rug near the sofa would help. Quiet location walking distance to shopping snd restaurants in Solvang.

Room was nice and it was in a quiet area but still within walking distance of alot of the shops. The showers did take a while to warm up but otherwise a nice place.

I arrived and was cordially received by an attendant in the hotel office. The room was ready before the check-in time which I appreciated because we arrived early to Solvang and it was starting to rain. When I opened the room there was a strong bleach and moldy kind of a smell. It was horrible. My husband and decided to rest but the smell of bleach was so bad, my nose and chest started to hurt. Then my husband started to sneeze uncontrollably. So I went and spoke to the attendant in the office and explained the situation. He was very nice and showed me another room but the bleach stench was atrocious in the second room too. I decided to stay in the first room and just decided to open the windows and went out to have dinner to see if the smell would subside. Came back to the room at about 6:00pm. and realized that the smell was still very prevalent in the entire room. At that point I went back to the hotel office to inform the attendant the smell was unbearable and that I was going to leave the premises. However, the office was closed and left the key in a drop box. I tried contacting the hotel by phone but they had a call service and all they did was take a message. Bottom line I left early. I was there at my check-out time, which was 3pm and left at 6pm, which was about 3 hours later. It is unfortunate that such a charming property on the outside was so uninviting in the inside. The small fridge also.Some furniture looked old and the paint was scraped.

Check-in was on the 13th, number 9. In the evening we found that there is no light in the room, there are only lamps, the general light does not work. The bed and sofa have not been changed since the Danes arrived, it was not possible to sleep. The bed and sofa creak a lot because they did not get enough sleep. Dust is everywhere , near the bed on the bedside table , they haven 't dusted for sure for a month , the chair near the table is broken , there is no electric kettle , they could have bought it , there was only a coffee maker . And we paid 330 dollars for this horror. Such a room doesn't even cost $100. We are very upset!!!

Winter visit in Solvang
We enjoyed our stay with our 8mo puppy. Our room was a nice size for us. The sitting area was very comfortable. Room was clean when we arrived. We did not use the room service. Less than 10 minutes walk from downtown Solvang. We had the end room with parking right next to us which was quite a treat. We would stay here again. Be sure to check out the gardens in the back.

Pick another hotel.
Room was not ready until almost three hours after check in. Front desk closed 30 minutes earlier than on all posted information, other than the flier included with our key—which we did not have until after the desk closed. Room smelled heavily of cleaning supplies, the floor was still wet and had long black hairs plastered to the tile in the bathroom. There was a gross plunger left outside our door. Even though there was no room above us, it sounded like there were line dancing elephants above our heads all night. We could also hear every creak and squeak from the rooms around us. The place looks very quant in photos, but it’s pretty run down. Advertised cafe on site is also not open. Plus side—walking distance to all things in town, but far enough removed to not deal with crowds of people constantly. Parking on site but very narrow and cramped. Pet friendly, but there is a $45 pet fee, which is not clearly advertised and only in the fine print.

Great location but that’s about it.. We were charged $750 for 3 nights and I would go as far to say it was a rip off. The rooms were small, dated and extremely dusty, both sets of our blinds were broken, squeaky bed, dirty towels, noisy heaters, the parking lot was less than a meter from the door/window meaning you heard every single car that came in and out as well as the people walking around outside. The staff were never at reception when I went to ask for clean towels. I am so disappointed with the stay we had here and frankly feel like we were severely overcharged for the amenities/quality of stay we had.
