Beautiful view of Mount Seorak! Just a short walk to the famous cable car so really convenient! Nice breakfast buffet served as well!

Breakfast buffet was nice and it had lots of choice. Property needs renovation. Staffs at 9th fl/bar and lunch restauran were very rude, but front desk staffs were very kind.

Excellent location if you plan to visit Seoraksan almost every day of your stay in Sokcho. Buses down into town are very convenient. 20 minute walk down to the nearest convenient store. View is pretty great and the room is enormous. Probably not very convenient if you want to get a late night snack unless you don’t mind a 20 minute walk. Rooms are a little vintage in style and condition. Quite a bit of bugs in the balcony and saw some in the toilet too.

The area surrounding the hotel is incredible. Hotel is so close to the park it was a great place to stay! That being said walking into the hotel is like walking back in time. Not a bad thing but some things are just a little run down. There was definitely a lot of water damage in the building and we had a significant amount of mold in our room

설악산에 위치해 호텔방 베란다에서 보는경치가 아름다와서 좋았어요.직원분들도 친절했어요.늦게 도착 해서 주변 식당들이 문을 닫은점이 불편 했어요.설악산이 도보 거리에 위치해서 차를 호텔 주차장에 두고 가서 편리 했어요.설악산에 오게되면 다시 방문 하고 싶어요

This hotel has two things to recommend it - the excellent location which is just a few minutes walk to the entrance to Soerak-san Park, and the staff who work hard and try to accommodate. Otherwise, the property is dated and many parts of it feel dreary. We did request a room change and our second room was an improvement over the first. The restaurant is a disappointment.

Water from the bathtub drained and came back up to the bathroom floor and flooded. Called the front desk and the service team came and fixed it. Room got changed to a new/more spacious one. Breakfast buffet was better than expected. The location is only perfect for hiking. The mountain view is amazing.

A lovely mountain respite!
Wanted to spend a night at the famous Seoraksan as part of my east coast Korea explorations and Kensington Hotel was a great choice. While the room decor screamed 1980s-1990’s English chintz explosion (read: a bit dated-haha) the whole thing kinda works. The hotel lobby and hallways are interesting and informational, the decor is super fun in the public areas of the hotel, and the views are unmatched (seriously book a room with a view). Enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the beds were comfy. Bathroom was nice (please bring back washcloths!!!!) staff were super polite and helpful since we came during a time with no restaurant service in the evenings. Would gladly return any time!

Beautiful location, but the hotel is very outdated and looks as if it has never been updated. The first room was very dirty and had a terrible smell. The staff was very quick to address our request to change rooms, and they were very polite. Overall the hotel is fairly run down, and not in good shape. The views are nice, but the design of the hotel makes it awkward to see the sights outside (not a straight or clear view to the mountains). Great location, but I would recommend looking elsewhere to stay. The breakfast buffet was ok, not great, but good enough.

The location is amazing. My room has a view of the mountains just like the resort hotels I remember from growing up in Colorado. The Seoraksan main entrance is a five minute walk away. Solid food options at the hotel, and cheaper options available at the convenient store outside the parking lot.

Cozy old european style hotel with amazing view
It's a lovely authentic hotel with old european vibes. Great stay but sadly two of the restaurants were closed due to COVID 19. I'd definitely come back after the pandemic

Great location but ...
Easy access to the park without having to fight traffic. Kind and friendly staff. Room size is ok. I like the 2 pillows per guest. Old hotel but could have been maintained better: wallpaper peeling, molds and mildew in bathroom, would’ve been nice if there was a bidet, room was dark. Breakfast choices and quality weren’t desirable.

27 Aug 2020: Staff tend to look down on foreigners, and help out their own. Two hours before 3 pm (check-in time), I was told that I could not check in early, and so I waited. While waiting, I saw four different customers (locals) speak to the hotel front desk staff, and were able to check-in right away. I left a note in my hotel room writing all my frustrations, not with the hotel, but to the staffs. Hotel-- Good, Hotel Staff-- Not Good

The proximity to the park was a bonus. The hotel staff was welcoming and helpful. Not being able to buy even a cup of coffee, let alone a meal in the hotel was very disappointing. Amenities notwithstanding, the stay was comfortable.

Room was nice, I didn't have a mountain view but still beautiful. Staff were relatively good, a few language barriers (i waited for a wine for 30 minutes as she hadn't realised I ordered one) breakfast buffet was tasty, predominantly Asian with some western breakfast items. Dinner was not suitable for me, they had a two person meal and my only options were pizza or chicken and chips or fish and chips or salad. I think my chicken and chips with a beer cost me AUD$50! I bought ramen from the7-11 next night. I stayed here to go to Seoraksan, if it weren't for the great location I probably would've stayed elsewhere.

The room is big and clean. However, the Mountain View is very limited. It was blocked by a wall on one side and couldn’t get a panoramic view.
