It is the people that make this a great place to stay. All of the front desk personnel were absolutely fabulous and went out of their way to get me information. The restaurant staff were great for the most part, as were the cleaning personnel. I had to switch rooms part way through my stay. My first room was quite large, but the colour scheme left the room a bit drab feeling. The colour of the carpet made it feel as though it wasn't clean, even though I am pretty sure it was. The second room, though significantly smaller, was much cheerier.
I didn't enjoy the breakfast very much, but others seemed to. The free coffee with breakfast was terrible, but for an additional charge, you can order a specialty coffee. My main complaint with the hotel would be the lack of hairdryers. Not sure if there are any hairdryers in other rooms, but both I stayed in didn't have any. You can borrow a blowdryer from the front desk, but they only had one, so often someone else would be using it.
The location was not bad. To get to the centre, one must take a tram and a metro, but it doesn't take long. There is a large, beautiful park across the street from the hotel. I would recommend ensuring you have the address in Bulgarian if you are planning on taking a taxi. I only had the address in English, and it took taxi drivers (I needed 2 during my stay) a bit to figure out where it was.
All in all, I did enjoy my stay and would stay here again when in Sofia.
