The Skellig Rocks, with its most famous islands Skellig Michael and Little Skellig, tower out of the Atlantic Ocean seven miles west of the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry. This isolated position on the very edge of Europe was chosen by a small group of monks to be the home of their remote and inaccessible monastery, sometime between the 6th and 8th centuries.

"Elegant old hotel, high level of service. Breakfasts were wonderful with lots of options. We were on the first floor so view was good but Iโm sure upper floors have amazing views. We had a noise issue, with an old radiator that needed to be bled on occasion or it made a loud jackhammer sound in the wall of our room. Happened twice, once early in the morning. Staff took care of it promptly but it was annoying. But it is a very old place."

"By far my favorite place Iโve ever stayed in Ireland or America. Absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous views, lovely kitchen, the house was an amazing size. We had 3 adults and we all had amazing space. But this could easily fit 4-5 people. Everything was super accessible and we were taken care of for any situation. The host was super lovely as we met her upon arrival. Genuinely the most gorgeous home Iโve ever been in. Could not recommend staying here more! My only regret is that I didnโt book for longer! but I will be back someday๐"
