Close enough to Orchard Road shopping without the chaos. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Room was reasonably sized for 3 adults. Not the cleanest - dust balls in corners. Lovely pool which we had to ourselves both days.

Hotel a little bit old but spacious rooms. Room door should be a little bit more sound proof. Airconditioning and air duct should be cleaned, it was very dusty specially the bathroom air duct above the shower.

It was a bit disappointing to be honest. The room had a mouldy smell and it is not worth the price. Breakfast was good but location was a little inconvenient as you have to walk out for about 10 minutes to the nearest MRT

Special night with no electricity.
Customer service was great. Despite the hotel informed us that night will have no supply of electricity for several hours but the staffs have done mental and physical preparedness to deal with guest enquiries.

York Hotel is immaculate! The quadruple room was spacious with a bathroom modern, great amenities, attentive staff, room service was 1st class. Walking distance to the fantastic shops yet far enough away to feel peaceful. Absolutely faultless. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Value for money. We didn't want to leave!

Great location close to the Orchard MRT stop and bus stops. Easy access to high end and cheap/cheerful shops and food. Pool is great and they let us use the pool during the day after we checked out

What I liked was that it was quiet, the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable. It was very close to shops and transport and the room service was fantastic. The one thing I did not like was, behind the curtains was extremely dirty. If I had a toddler, I would have to have it cleaned before I let it loose in the room.

This hotel is 5-star quality to me and my family. First, the room is so big, it literally can accommodate 10 guests! Second, it is very clean. The housekeepers clean the room everyday without being told. They change the towels everyday and gives you new sets of toothbrushes everyday if they see that you used your toothbrush the day before. Front desks staff and bellboys are very helpful but doesn’t really smile. I think, it’s the culture of Singaporeans but we don’t mind. Third, it is near to lots of shopping centers like Paragon, where there’s lots of restaurants and luxury bags stores like LV, Gucci and Rolex store, too. We ride the taxi everyday and it’s not that expensive. Singapore is a small country you can finish the whole place in probably 2 days. We will stay in this hotel the next time we go to Singapore.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the York Hotel on our way to Europe. The breakfast dining area was very large and the breakfast was delicious with lots of variety to choose from. The hotel staff were very nice and our room was cleaned extremely well. The location of the hotel is excellent with only a few minutes walk to the Paragon shopping centre which by walking through the centre will lead you right into the center of Orchard Road. Thank you to all the staff at the York hotel. We will be back on our way back from Europe.

This hotel is in a quiet area but not 5-7 walks from the busy Scott road and Orchard road ! Lobby is clean and spacious. Room is clean and quiet. There’s good size pool and gym in the hotel.

Everything seems great except that I purposely stayed long there during the 1 week school holiday because I wanted to celebrate my only child birthday which fell on 1 of the day that I stayed there plus my own birthday that was few days back. I compared to during CNY, my sister, my only child and myself stayed for 3 days next to York Hotel neighbour the Vibe Hotel. My sister' birthday was 12 days back but when shr informed Vibe Hotel reception, once we entered our room during checking in, the TV screen surprisingly showed my sister's name with birthday greetings. One of the Vibe Hotel staff also came knocking at the door and gave my sister a cute mug in a box as her belated birthday gift. However when I told York Hotel reception about my only child birthday on that day and my own belated birthday, the York Hotel Reception said the hotel did not do as their neighbour Vibe Hotel did on birthday date stays. Next when I called using the hotel room phone for two consecutive days to request for extra pillows because the pillows were too soft and also a blanket because we could not adjust the air con and felt very cold, the same Indian lady answering the phone answered the hotel not able to provide that request because the hotel was fully book. 6 days during our daily breakfast, the Chinese waitress ladies wearing black T shirt printed the word Penang only greeted loudly "Good morning" to tourists especially Caucasians but never at all to my family Singaporean.

This is the second time I stay at York Hotel and I’ll be coming back. The staff at the front desk, concierge, and around the hotel are fantastic. Rooms are comfortable and all round a great location and stay!

Overall, my family and I were very happy staying in your hotel. Being near to Orchard Road and short walkable distance from the hotel are the key reasons why we chose to stay in this hotel. Our rooms are comfortable and clean. But the hallway to the rooms look dull and old and can be improved to have better ambience.

Impolite Male Staff at the check-in counter
Overall, the service of the front desk check-in counter (especially that Male Staff) was super poor —- This Male Staff was rude, impolite and arrogant. As for the breakfast area, everyone could tell that this area seriously lack of systematic work arrangement and staff there were obviously not in good mood working condition.

Not worth the price paid
* Breakfast was acceptable * Check-in was prompt * Hotel rooms are old and dated * Shower curtain smelled like wet laundry. Requested to replace and was done in timely fashion * For price paid, I believe there are better hotels to book in Singapore.
