Perspective is important. We were a couple, looking for a one night stay in a decent, low budget hotel in Singapore.
That said, Hotel 1929 met that criteria.
The hotel was a short 10-15 min walk from the nearest MRT station. It was clean and the staff were courteous and professional.
When we opened the door to our room, we were a little surprised at the size of the room. It was tiny. We had a relatively comfortable queen sized mattress on a raised floor, and not much room around it for our luggage. To open the luggage, it had to be on the bed.
The bathroom was small, but efficient with a wet toilet, and the shower head doubling as the bidet wand.
Hot water was great. The A/C worked, but was surprisingly underpowered for such a small room.
Anyway, the room cost was reasonable for Singapore. Hotels in this city are quite pricey compared to surrounding asian islands.
Overall, the room worked for us, but I was constantly worried about stepping off the bed platform unexpectedly and getting injured.
Almost forgot to mention the balcony. Nice touch, but would have been better use of real estate if part of the enclose room.
