The location is separate yet very short walk to the noisy Pub Street and several restaurants. Staff is polite. The common areas felt stuffy during this (March) season. Position of bed is the other side, away from Aircon so the cooling in room was not effective. Recommended to stay!

Great location and staff
Hotel well located but not in noisy location. Tuk tuk driver Mr Teavy was very friendly and helpful. Reception staff were very helfpul and accommodating. Good food in restaurant. Pool was great and had good shade from sun. Room downstairs was cool. Some dirt swept under bed but apart from that clean.Shower could be upgraded. I would definitely stay there again.

Things have changed here..not same same as last t
I booked a room at The Popular Hotel & Spa one year ago. I had a very pleasant stay here 02/2019 and I loved the staff, location, pool & room. This current stay....I loved the staff, although not as friendly as one year ago, where they kindly greeted me each time I returned from going outside. This was not done as frequently this time. Cold towels were given last year....none so far and it’s day 3. Re: the room this time, it was very nice with the cold AC and the comfy big king bed, abundant English Channel TV and the refrigerator, however, there is a window in the room near the balcony door that has no blind at all. Hence the morning sun at 6am comes shinning through unabated. Not good for someone that likes a pitch black room. The front desk informed me that the owner was aware of the issue, and would take care of it at the end of the month, well after my stay here:-( The man they sent up to check it out only hung 1 of the bathrobes on the open window:-( A black piece of cardboard would have sufficed. And to top it off, this morning at the pool breakfast area, there were 3 guys sleeping fully clothed at the pool. They apparently were waiting for their rooms, but with limited recliners and just a bad look, it was disappointing that the hotel staff allowed unpaid guests, as they were not paying guests until after getting their room, to sleep by the pool using recliners for current paying customers. And it was a bit disturbing that the 3 guys would think that that was “okay”.
Three Unpaid guys sleeping by the pool....I thought I was in San Fransicko for a brief moment.....

For curtain window we have ask team to put curtain already but on that day you are allow us to go in side. And there might be some misunderstanding for guest were slept at pool side because they're came to do early check in and their room not yet ready and for check in time of policy is at 2pm, so if there is have room available we are happy to allow guest for early check in into the room but if there is no room available for early check in the guest could relax at the pool side or go to the city first. Good staff, good location, good breakfast.
Staff is very polite and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Check-in process was smooth and quick. The hotel need a little maintenance, such as squeaky bathroom and room doors. You can hear other guests doors too, especially very early hours, 5am for Wat Angkor sunrise. Little oil on doors would take care of problem. Location is right in center. Hotel tuk tuk driver, a little older man, very polite and ride carefully. We hire him for our transportation. Overall, it was good stay.

Almost a nice hotel, clueless staff
My dad described it best when he said it felt like the hotel's staff must have quit en mass a week or two ago and the handful of people left had no idea how to run the hotel. The pool was lovely... but they had no towels the first day we were there. They ran out of coffee cups and plates at the free breakfast. Room service was a failed linguistic exercise. I had to check out early due to an emergency and the front desk girl's English was too limited to separate the two rooms' bookings, so I just gave up and we paid for two nights I wasn't even there.

Good Value for Money and Location
Hotel is well located, but not too close to Pub Street And markets and was very quiet (we had room facing building next door). Breakfast was good (hot food to order), staff pleasant and helpful and spoke English. There is a nice pool and drinks prices are same as most cafes. Room was a good size with roomy en-suite, air conditioning and really good wifi (best I’ve had in any hotel). Would recommend as very good value for money.

Love this adorable hotel! I felt like I was in a Pinterest picture! Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Room is comfortable and well equipped. Pool was great. We didn't hear the road outside at all. Heads up: no elevators! We are nice and young so our room on the 4th floor wasn't a problem. Also, don't leave your bathroom window open, we got a lot of mosquitos on our last night cause we forgot

Very good hotel
We were 3 persons and got free pickup from bus station to hotel it was weird to ride with tuk-tuk for 3 with all the luggage but it's free and it was funny :) Breakfast was good but they could have more options if you are not very picky then it will be good for you. Water in pool was cold again for some this is good not for me but this is not what I included in my overall grade it's just a bonus to have pool. Room was clean towels and bed sheets too except of the floor which needs some scrubbing I guess when you are walking with socks and look you see how dirty socks are. But this was the only thing I noticed.

An excellent hotel, really enjoyed our stay
This hotel is fantastic with very friendly staff. The service was excellent and arranged for a birthday cake and balloons for my friend as it was his birthday. They offer a free pickup service in hope thst the taxi driver gets some work. His prices were competitive and therefore we chose him over Grab. If there was anything that I would want improving, it would be the breakfast. Not a lot of option for vegetarians.

This hotel was nearby Pub Street and other areas of interest. The street was a bit of a construction mess but the hotel was nice. Breakfast was delicious and they arranged airport pick up.

This hotel is conveniently situated near the old market night market and street food vendors . Lots of tourist agencies nearby to book adventure tours, temple tours and for currency exchange. Staff was accommodating and friendly, especially Savin who had helped us extend the check-out time for an extra 2 hours for one of the rooms we had booked , so we could come back to shower and freshen up after the Quan bike adventure before our flight in the evening. She also helped my friend to switch to a new room when their ac wasn't working in the previous room. Ask for their Tuktuk driver Mr. TV (not correct spelling). He was great as well. Will definitely come back again!

Excellent service, the friendliest staff, perfectly located! This hotel was amazing! We had such a good experience and we were so conveniently located in downtown. Close enough to walk to everything within a couple of minutes, but not right in the middle of all the noise. Spa massage was great! Breakfast was very good. Hotel is located within walking distance to city center and near good restaurants/bars/shopping. Our room on the first floor did not face the street and therefore was quiet. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast offerings were pretty extensive and good service. The streets around hotel are in severe disrepair but it seems like the city is working on a repair project. We had a very pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel, just come with an open mind to positively deal with the chaotic city environment.

wonderful adventure
The staff was very helpful setting up excursions and someone to drive us. The hotel was a close walk to Old Market and Pub Street. But often the streets were small dirt alleys and difficult to find a certain shop or destination. We had a great stay and lots of wonderful adventures.

The location was amazing, with only a short walk to main parts of Siem Reap including Pub Street and the Night Market. The staff were always very accommodating but it was sometimes a little difficult to get a request due to the language barrier. Amenities were pretty good overall, pool was nice and clean but a bit small for the number of guests, rooms were a decent size but very basic.

Exploring Angkor Wat

Very friendly and polite staff at the hotel, nice selection for breakfast, nice pool and surrounding area to relax, great location for walking to Pub street in Siem Reap for many restaurants and bars. Room had basic decor and was not finished (not all of bathroom was tiled) and very hard bed to sleep on. Surrounding area of hotel is a bit dirty with rubbish.

Nice hotel in a very convenient location. Easy to walk to pub street and the markets. However, it was very noisy due to the water festival. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and there were many choices.

Pros: Great breakfast. Hotel clean. Walking distance to night market and pub street where you can find delicious, inexpensive street food. Female staff at front desk and dinning room were very respectful and friendly. They made us feel welcome. Cold drink and snack offered at check in was a nice touch. Twin beds were comfortable. Cons: afternoon/evening male front desk staff both were not very friendly when we checked in and other times. Never offered us the cold towel many reviewers talked about. Hard to get a good night sleep due to too much street noisy. Not enough hooks to hang 3 towels in bathroom for 3 people.

Hotel was pretty decent. Stayed here for 2 nights. Overall it wasn't bad and it's good for the price. Rooms are clean and the staff is quite friendly. Location is very good - very central, near pub street and walking distance to shops, malls and attractions in city center. Hotel pick up is also a very nice touch. It's in a remorque so it was a very fun and local experience.

This is not a 4 star hotel. (3 at max)
The star rating system must be different between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Popular Hotel & Spa in Siem Reap was not a 4 star hotel. I could hear everything between the walls and outside my door. Bathroom was flooding every time I took a shower. One of the receptionist was not very helpful at all. For example, I booked a massage and was told that he will ring my room in 30 minutes to come down. I waited 1 hour and no one rang me, so I rang, which he replied, "Oh yeah, you can come down" He didn't even apologise. I felt like cancelling the session but I still went down to do the massage to be polite. However there were two masseuse waiting for me because the same receptionist told them that I booked 2 for two people. (I was travelling alone). I don't know whether he just did not pay any attention or just not good at his job. About 4.30am, I went down to the lobby area to participate in a sunrise Angkor Wat tour. There were 3 male staff members who were sleeping on each of the only three sofas in the lobby. I have stayed at many hotels and I have never seen this. It certainly did not look professional. I would not go back to this hotel and it should not be rated as a 4 star hotel. The only good thing about this hotel was that it was a 6 min walk to the Pub Street. (There are plenty of other hotels with similar price within that distance)

Excellent customer service. The front desk prepared packed breakfast for our early tours to Angkor Wat, that was really helpful and appreciated. Room was spacious and clean. Overall really enjoyed our stay.

the Popular Hotel made my partner's & my holiday to Siem Reap extra special as it was so comfortable with such helpful courteous staff who made us feel so welcome & helped with trip-organising. We really looked forward to breakfast where there was a huge choice - fresh fruits, pastries, cereals and a range of different cooked breakfasts. There was a very clean pool outside the bar/restaurant perfect for cooling down in after sightseeing. We chose the Popular Hotel due to it' location, just a 10 minute walk to the main centre of Siem Reap and because it was very reasonably priced. Thank you Popular Hotel for a wonderful holiday, I would love to stay again one day and would thoroughly recommend to anybody wanting a comfortable stay in Siem Reap.

Good Value For Money
This Hotel is near the centre and is good value for money. The room was a bit on the small side but was okay. It was clean and had the basics. Unfortunately our room was on the ground floor and opening the window we were able to touch the wall next to us, this was also a passage way so we needed to keep the curtains closed at all times for privacy. I presume a room on a higher floor would be better, although I never saw a lift either. There is a small pool area beside the breakfast area, which was freshly cooked with a small buffet. The hotel arranged a tuk-tuk to pick us up at the airport, and we used the guy the following day to take us to Angkor Wat - there was no rip off and I’d recommend if that is your main purpose and have nothing else arranged.

This was a good hotel with friendly staff who made a wonderful effort to help even though most didnt speak good English. It is a small hotel though, no full time spa staff so you have to make arrangements a bit in advance so someone will come to do the service and it is well located close to the market. The floor in my room was a bit dusty and there is no lift/ elevator.

Fab hotel
Beautiful hotel very friendly staff great spa only slight grip was room was on 4th floor no lift, and as a mature lady not ideal but I survived and would certainly recommend and would return if in area again
