Excellent stay in G&Z Urban Hotel: Siem Reap
The staff and facilities at G&Z are really very good indeed. My stay was pleasant, comfortable and the staff were friendly, professional and efficient. All the staff were great but I would like to point out one young gentleman who, despite being profoundly deaf, was always helpful and professional. I’m not being patronising (I hope) but his disability was not obvious but some guests should realise that he used hand signals very effectively and raising your voice in English or Spanish is not going to make a difference! Much respect to G&Z for employing a good man. The food and drink was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend a stay in this hotel.

This is a nice hotel, but I’m not sure if my room is finished! The bathroom is half tiled and half finished with PVA washed plaster. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be basic Bauhaus or they wanted to open before completion. There is a flat screen TV in my room which cannot be tuned in so I see no reason why it should be there. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice hotel, excellent staff, clean, comfortable and convenient. The breakfast is good and excellent facilities overall, but please, just apply that final 10% and it would be excellent!

We loved staying here! The staff are so friendly and really do make you feel at home. The rooms are modern, clean and large. The breakfasts are great and the pool area is nice and relaxing. G&Z Urban is close to sites around town and a 5 minute walk to Pub Street. Highly recommend.

Good location. Close to everything but away from the noise of pub street. Room we stayed in was very big and spacious. Staff are very friendly but just a bit slow. English wasn’t always the best. Main difficulty was with restaurant staff. Overall, pleasant experience.

We had a Great time visiting Angkor Wat!! The hotel was in walking distance to Pub Street!!! It had a nice pool after a hot day of sight seeing!!!

Autumn Break
Great location by the river, and only a few minutes walk to the main attractions. The hotel was in good condition, though the grey walls and floor made it appear rather drab. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Inclusive breakfast was a high standard, and cooked for you. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Close to the action yet quiet and comfortable.
Small well appointed hotel with good (lunch/breakfast) restaurant. Helpful friendly staff. Swimming pool small but nicer than pictures on the web. 5 minute walk to the old town bars and markets area. 2 minute walk to Hard Rock Cafe, the (trendy) Temple cafe, and the Jungle Bar.

Not worth the money
The only two good things about this hotel was it's location and spacious room. Breakfast was very poor. Toilet and shower were filthy and the room itself would do with some more cleaning (spider web in the corners, stained curtains, sticky and dirty fridge). When we booked the room we were offered 20% off food and bevareges and free one way airport transfer. No one told us that discount doesn't apply to mini bar and we only found out about this during the check out. Lastly free one way airport transfer it's only a pick up from the airport. We managed to get to the hotel on our own but when we asked to be dropped off to the airport we were inform that hotel is not able to provide that free of charge as they only do pick up. Once again good to know in advance. Despite having email confirmation about terms and conditions of the reservation they wouldn't accept that and made us pay.

We booked this hotel after all the "good" review, however it started with very upsetting airport pick-up situation -- we waited (wasted) for one hour waiting for the driver at the airport while he didn't show up; we took a taxi to the hotel and got confusing reply (no reply at all), and we figured out the driver didn't even go as we saw the pick-up paper (with my name on) was at the reception desk. Staff speak very poor English. Except the service, room is not bad.

Best value!
The hotel was initially a little hard to find as its going through a name change. However, the location is fantastic (near the old market) and there are several restaurants within walking distance. The staff were very nice and helpful although some had very limited English. There is no elevator but they will help you with your luggage. The breakfast was delicious. The in-room massage and facial was fantastic! The pool was small but very nice! It’s a fantastic value and I would highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel!

Friendly staff, great location
Loved this place! Minutes walk to Pub Street and the Night Market so there was lots to do. Mr. Sey was our tuktuk driver and he was the sweetest, most accommodating guy. The hotel helped organize our sunrise tour of Angkor Wat ($21 USD) and transportation to and from the airport.

Inexpensive boutique hotel in the heart of town
The hotel is an inexpensive boutique hotel located very centrally. Unfortunately the a/c in one of my rooms (I had to switch rooms as I had two contiguous reservations after I decided to stay an extra day) didn’t really work well at all, and the water in the showers in both rooms was not hot at all in the mornings. The hotel said they used solar heating for the water, which is great (and the water was hot the one day I showered in the evening), but then you typically need hot water in the morning, so the showers need to be equipped to provide hot water in the mornings. And there are no elevators; something to consider if you cannot downstairs. The staff was friendly and did their best to help, but the equipment probably needs to be upgraded.

Cosy place to stay
Very well located and staff are great. The water sometimes took longer to get warm, the brakefast was quite desorganised on the last day and the pick up at the station never showed up, but overall is very cool.

Great location but .....
Location perfect for us - 10 mins walk to the market and busier areas yet pretty quiet where we were. Great room overlooking the pool. Water in room only warm in morning but ok by afternoon. Reception put this down to lack of sun the day before but this happened every day. Some lack of attention to detail in room cleaning. Breakfast poor with food not covered from flys and staff not very attentive. On a positive the fire alarm system works well as we were evacuated due to an idiot smoking in the bedroom. Reception staff good.

No hot water available during morning time before 8am and also evening after 10pm...Solar system is not convenient to travelers.. We prefer shower head which we can hold it, rain shower head is not useful for kids.. Breakfast is almost 99% same except one day is fried rice and the other day is fried noodle No life for old folks especially those their legs having problems

Visit Angkor.
The hotel was comfortable and clean .staffs are friendly but they have to replace old towers some are very old. Khmer people so friendly and foods are good. Angkor temple is amazing I recommend everyone to see November festival boat racing is so much fun. I would go back again

Great little hotel near town centre.
A lovely little hotel. Our rooms were not ready when we checked in (as previous guests had not checked out as expected) and there was no-where to shower (despite there being a small outside pool) which put a bit of a 'damp-ner' on our arrival. Other than that the staff were friendly and the hotel clean and quiet. Great location near the town centre but just far enough away not to be bothered by noise.

Loved the location and the staff. Mr Hy and Mr Rain were excellent drivers and made sure we saw what we wanted to at Angkor. Be sure to get them for your tours! But the beds were hard and not like the "pillow top" mentioned on the app. Also didn't get the pick up despite emailing twice before arrival. Then instead of giving us the drop off, msnagement just gave us a $4 discount... not right when our hotels.com reservation said "including pick up". Luckily the excellent Mr Hy and Mr Rain did everything in their power to ensure we had a great stay. Many thanks to them.

Nice and close to centre of town
Easy to organise airport pick up, hotel sorted out temple tour for us. Room was clean, one of the doors wouldn't lock, they fixed it promptly once notified though. Semi reliable hot water, took a while to warm up 5-10minutes Bed pretty hard and aircon seemed to only be going at half power.

Personalized check-in with fresh chilled hand towels and orange juice was perfect. Service excellent. Room was no-frills with no view out the window except a wall. Not a big deal for a 2 night stay though. Definitely would stay here again for a small trip

A little disappointment on their service
No doubt hotel staff were polite but they lack the communication skill. Ask them question but never get back to us. Ist day breakfast was bad, 2 cold hard boil eggs n plain bread with jam. The hotel staff has totally forgotten to prepare our packed breakfast despite our order the night before as we were setting off to see sunrise the next day. A big disappointment! However, they could remember to pack for other guest, sigh! Had feedback to them about their lst day's breakfast but nothing was done on their part. On the last day, their toilet was choked, had informed the chambermaid to help clear before we left for our morning last minute shopping. However, upon our return, it was still not cleared, sigh! Nonetheless, a big applause to their tuk tuk driver, Mr Rain who is able to converse in English and was very helpful throughout our stay. He has even returned to hotel to get our packed breakfast after sending us to Angkorwat. A big thank you to him.

The location is within walking distance of downtown nightlife, markets, etc. The hotel is small but you receive very personal service. Not fancy but suited our needs perfectly. Many food options in the area but hotel food was as good or better than we had anywhere else. The staff were as friendly and helpful as we have ever encountered and this included the tuk tuk drivers.

Nice hotel in heart of Siem Reap
Fantastic position of hotel - in heart of city, facing river. We loved being able to walk to markets, buy street food, visit Pub Street etc. Tuk-tuk drivers 'Mr Rain' and 'Mr He' were lovely and drove us around to many places of interest.

Comfortable, friendly staff and great location
As soon as you arrive, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. We arranged a pickup from the airport and they were waiting for us when we arrived. The hotel is lovely, small, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We booked a Deluxe Twin and we found the room spacious, clean and comfortable. Relaxing by the pool was wonderful. The breakfasts are great, buffet style along with freshly cooked eggs. The location is fantastic, an easy walk to the markets and Pub street. Our driver for the week was Mr. Rain and he is friendly, courteous and most importantly - a careful driver! Our only complaint was we booked a room with a balcony, which was nice and large, but the furniture was hard and dirty, so we could really enjoy sitting out on it. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Great location
Great location, walking distance to all markets, restaurants, bars and local sightseeing spots. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great pool area.

Nice boutique hotel, can be cleaner though
Not sure if it is because of the close proximity to a river (stagnant pool of water) that there were plenty of mosquitoes. The room is comfortable, but there were mosquitoes flying in.... cleanliness can be improved. The staff are courteous and polite though so that is one of the good things I guess
