The owners were great. very understanding, helpful and has lots of useful advise. They upgraded our room. It was massive next to pool side. All in all absolutely fantastic.

A Pleasant Stay In A Peaceful Well Kept Hotel.
I choose The Areca Boutique Hotel because it matched of all my personal criteria, which is a nice small personally run stylish hotel with ideally a quiet private garden and a good sized swimming pool, and also in the local area that I needed to be in. So yes this is exactly what I got with the Areca Hotel. My flight was notified delayed by my airline by about 2 hours, and I informed the hotel before my flight departure, and they kindly accommodated the delay with their own driver waiting patiently for me, and so I arrived at the hotel very late, but sure a very warm and personal welcome, and then the hotel owner personally made sure that all was also alright with my room. Yes a very good courteous start for all here. My stay was extremely pleasant, the personal touches of the owners of the hotel who oversee the good and smooth running of everything made all the differences to the whole atmosphere than one notices as a frequent hotel guest. Excellent local information and friendly advice was given in a cordial and obliging way, and I also found both the owners extremely pleasant to talk with informally, which gave my stay an even more enjoyable personal nature. The peace and tranquillity of the well kept garden and excellent pool area was just ideal, and my breakfast was also very good quality, cooked personally to order, and then served in the serene garden restaurant and bar area, just by the pool. Yes of course an enjoyable stay here at Areca Hotel.

This is an oasis of peace and calm in a busy town. There is a lovely garden and a beautifully kept swimming pool. It’s also close to the centre with the markets and restaurants so not at all cut off. The hosts are charming and could not have been more helpful. Its also excellent value for money.

Nice hotel and very friendly hosts. I visited in Jan 2019 with family. I was pleasantly surprised with our host and a new owner, a nice Australian couple that made their best to make our stay comfortable.

Beautiful lush tranquil hotel on the outskirts
This is probably one of my favorite small boutique hotels with authentic Cambodian room decor in an period home just on the outskirts of town. It's quiet, clean and well maintained with all the amenities you could need. There is a small pool with bar in the garden area. The staff are nothing less than exceptional. They are always there to help during your stay and even came to wish us fair well with a gift upon our departure. We would also recommend our Tuk tuk driver Pseth. He was truly special to us and also helped us get into the temples at alternate times to the regular crowds for photography.

Great hotel, amazing staff, super friendly. I called at 11.55pm and asked to be taken on a sunrise tour at 5pm and they arrange it for me on a matter of minutes. Would definitely come back to this hotel

Choose this hotel, seriously!
This hotel is probably the best hotel I ever had in my entire life. The service is way over the average in south east asia. They organise temples and other day-trips around town at a very good price. The breakfast is good, the pool is clean, the room are 100% equiped, very comfortable and quite big. The only small drawback is the location. Even thought it's not really far from the tourist area, you have to take a tuk-tuk to go there. This is not a problem because the hotel pay for one tuk-tuk/day and the return trip cost 2 US$. Tip: Get a clear google map image of the hotel location, because the small location card given by the hotel is not clear enough for most tuk-tuk driver.

Hidden gem
This place is tucked away off the main road. What makes this place special are the staff that work here. Everyone is super nice. They also offer a complimentary shuttle service from the airport to the hotel - in a tuk-tuk. They also make recommendations if touring Angkor Wat.

I stayed over a week, staff generally very helpful (a bit complicated for me because my next destination was not a common one. Needed to work with staff to figure out how to get me there). Some power issues in my room (but that wasn't the staff's fault) so I was moved. A little bit far from the centre but I think this will improve as this area builds up a bit more.

We loved our stay at Areca. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and have great advice on where to go in town. The free shuttle to town made it so easy to explore the area. We loved the garden pool oasis it was definitely needed after a day at Angkor Wat.

Stayed here twice and would come back again!
Off the main roads which means it is a quiet oasis. Beautiful hotel, grounds and staff. They cannot do enough for you! Comfortable and clean. My only slightest downgrade was that it was hard to get the rooms cooled down on hot days. The rooms are very big which contributes to the issue.

Everything about this hotel is excellent. The bed is the best in 3 months in Asia. Really clean room....proper attention to detail. Nice pool area. Pool towels etc. Good breakfasts. Fantastic staff....can't do enough for you. Bit of a long way out and the area has some roadworks but welcomed free tuktuk to town and help with reservations at restaurants. Will definitely be back if we are in Siem Reap.

great, friendly and helpful staff. Nice hotel and for the price - amazing. Needed a tuck tuck to get into town, but no big deal. One tip - the rooms in back are next to a farm or chicken coop with a rooster crowing, so unless you like that noise, get a room upfront.

Cozy Hotel
The Hotel is a small quiet hotel, in what appeared to be in the country. They offer a free tuk tuk pickup at the airport, delicious breakfast included. One free ride in to town a day. We were only at this hotel 2 nights and they arranged our Angkor Watt tour with a tuk tuk driver. The tuk tuk driver spoke good english and took us to a really good restaurant for lunch. If you like quiet small hotels this is a great hotel. I believe there was 11 rooms. It also has a nice pool. Staff was above and beyond nice.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and found the service to be quite good and the hotel a good value for the money. The hotel is located in a non-commercial area about 5 minutes away from downtown Siem Reap. The location was less bothersome after we found out that we were provided a free tuk-tuk ride into town every night. I would stay at this hotel again if returning to Siem Reap.

Highly recommended!
We booked a superior room for our anniversary after spending weeks in cheap hostels. The welcoming was great with cold towels and fresh fruits. The staff explained about their services thoroughly although they knew we are there only for one night. We were upgraded to a deluxe room. We really enjoyed spending time at the pool and the food was delicious. At check out we got a free tuktuk ride to center.

this is a great spot!
the service was consistently amazing and above and beyond expectations. They were knowledgable about all the sites to see and provided a tuk tuk for a good price. We booked one night and stayed for 4 nights. It is in a quiet location and has a very happy and calm atmosphere. The service staff are friendly and speak very good English.

Wish we'd stayed closer to downtown
The hotel is clean and nice but it's in a residential neighborhood quite far from downtown Siem Reap. We felt stuck--you can't get anywhere without taking a tuk tuk. The service is friendly and the pool area is relaxing. The food is no good--would not recommend eating here. Overall, would choose to stay much closer to town next time.

Simple but good.
Depending on what you are looking for can be a nice place, all in all it was ok. The neigborough is dark and dirty, cannot walk around also because the hotel is far from the city center. You need a tuktuk for anything you want to do. The restaurant is very small, simple but clean and good. Much better than most of places around, and cheaper. Rooms a bit noisy, staff is just great.

Nice little hotel with nice staff
The hotel is a little out of the way from the city center but is not by any means far. It is surrounded by local houses and is pretty quiet at night. The night shift receptionist Veecaht (not sure about spelling) is very friendly, helpful, and nice to just talk to. The hotel can help you to arrange day tours in tul-tusk or cars, at competetive rates. Letting them handle airport pickup could save you hassle and money. There are only two small inconveniences: the mini fridge is a bit noisy, and the road in front of the hotel is unpaved. Overall, highly recommended if you don't have to spend every evening at the pubs.

Lovely small hotel tucked out of the way
Very nice fairly new boutique hotel. Rooms clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice pool for a quick cool off and a relax on the lounger. Pool side bar and restaurant serving reasonable food. Only slight downside is that it is located off the main streets some 20 minutes walk from the center of Siem Reap. This is fine to walk in daylight but really needs a tuk-tuk back in the dark. Overall a very enjoyable stay and was good value for the room rate - would recommend.

I enjoyed my stay. Everything was wonderful except the location was far enough from town that I had to rely on a tuk tuk to get to town. This would be a better place for a couple as it was very secluded for a single woman traveling alone. The included breakfast was very good, however the outdoor dining area was not super clean. Salt water pool was refreshing. Room, however was very clean.

Fabulous little hotel with great staff
Stayed here for two nights and wished it had been a week. We were making a whistle stop tour of 4 SE Asian countries and this was the best hotel by far even as rated by a 16 year old young man.

As the other reviewers have stated, the hotel is off of a very poorly paved road. You have to go about 5 min. or so on an extremely bumpy road. Especially if I just ate, I did feel a bit queasy going back and forth. You need to carry the hotel card with you because most tuk tuk drivers have no idea how to get there. You should not pay more than $2. The hotel is relatively new. You can start to see some wear and tear on the place. There were some stains on the towels and bedding due to them not being cleaned properly and bleached. Do not stay on the 3rd floor. It gets very hot in those rooms, even with the air con on full blast. I asked to be moved to a different floor and the hotel upgraded me for free to a different room. The hotel staff makes up for all the little minor problems or inconveniences. They are incredibly attentive and nice and they really go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay there. They were so helpful with everything.

The only minus point for the hotel is the place where it's located. Apart from that it's a beautiful and comfortable cosy villa. Rooms are not less than 4 star standard. Clean and nice. Hotel workers were very friendly and helpful especially a guy name Vchet. They really make u feel at home. It is about 30 minutes away from Angkor Wat and 10 minutes away from old market and pub street. For those who are looking for a comfy hotel in cheaper price...u should opt for this.

Great boutique hotel
The hotel was great and the staff were wonderful, very helpful and friendly. The location was in a relatively 'local' setting a little way from the town centre, which might not suit everyone, but I enjoyed it and anyway transport is so cheap and easy.

Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I have had on my travels. The service was friendly and helped accommodate all my additional travel plans. One of the best breakfasts I have had in SE Asia. All facilities were in great condition including room, pool, internet, bathroom etc. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Fantastic getaway
We loved our time here and kept extending so we stayed 8 nights in the end. The staff simply could not do enough for us and were so service oriented, they put other hotels to shame. We were sad to go! We booked our tour guide and driver through the hotel which was also very convenient.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Areca Angkor Boutique Villa! The staff very attentive and made our stay very pleasant. The free 30 minute massage was a nice touch and the food was lovely. If returning, I would like to see a more extensive wine list but could not fault anything else in the hotel. Having the tuk tuks available to take you in and out of town was great, but I feel necessary based on the hotels location. Great staff, great service and a lovely experience.

We thought this hotel would be more centrally located, Google Maps pointed it out to be within walking distance from the city centre but it turned out to be much farther away. But apart from this the place was great. It's a small, new hotel with a nice small pool and a restaurant that serves very good food. The breakfast (you order from a menu) was also very good. As was the wifi. The hotel also offered us to use their bikes for free which saved us the hassle to rent bikes in town (and $10-15). Going to the city centre however, was free with their own tuktuk service. The staff was overall very attentive and really wanted to help us but because of varying English skills and wanting too much it got a little awkward sometimes. For example there was a young lady that rather gave us orders than advised us..

Fabulous hotel. Rooms were clean & spacious. Pool great, and restaurant food excellent. With the hotel only having 11 rooms, it had a very cosy feel whilst still feeling spacious. Although a little bit out of town , easy to get a tuk tuk into town & back. We only booked for 2 nights & ended up staying for 8!! Wish we could transport this hotel back to oz!! Best part of the stay was the staff - they were fantastic. It was great to come back after a long hot day exploring to be welcomed by their wide smiles & a cold facecloth.

Amazing hotel
This place is just great. Cannot fault it at all. The staff are so kind and helpful. Rooms are large and clean. It has a refreshing saltwater pool. It's an oasis of peace and calm after the noise of Siem Reap. It's a short tuk tuk ride away, which is provided free by the hotel, but you pay to come back. They help with all your travel arrangements. The breakfast is delicious, and so are evening meals.wish we could go back soon.
