"Our stay was short but wondeful! The bartenders were friendly as was the staff. Prices are excellent for the quality of food and drinks. We were just sad that the pool was under construction so that wasn't available for us, but we were compensated for that. We'll definitely recommend!"

"The resort is beautiful and the casita was very well laid out. The only negative about the room was the couch and chairs were pretty uncomfortable. Also, be aware the casitas have several steps going between living room and kitchen; kitchen and bedroom, and then bedroom and bathroom, so be careful of tripping. Also, the web site does state it, but you have to look, during slow season the indoor restaurant is closed, so the only option is the pool bar or driving the golf cart to another location which is going to be as close as 10 minutes or as far as 30."

"North Beach Retreat is the perfect hidden gem on Ambergris Caye. A modest resort that is ideal for those looking for a quieter and relaxing stay outside of the bustling town of San Pedro. The private beach, starlit sky, and close proximity to neighbouring resorts and restaurants provide the perfect balance of remote and convenience. However, the true heart of North Beach are the property caretakers Yvonne & Norman. They welcome you like family and provide an experience that surpassed my expectation. They pour so much love and care into the resort and do not hesitate to tend to the needs of their guests. Whether it was breakfast in bed, fresh coconut water, or showing you local spots in town, my first solo trip was one I will never forget!"

"The complementary breakfast was cooked to order with a lot of great options - and the fresh fruit was delicious. We didn't realize before we arrived that each casita is privately owned and rented out, but it didn't really impact our stay. 9a is lovely and private. The staff were all friendly and helpful."

"Very nice small hotel in secret beach. Staff are very attentive to guests needs and requests. The property is well kept, very nice sunset views over the water and nice small private beach. A peaceful retreat away from the noisy secret beach places. This is the lagoon side, not the reef, so the water is shallow and you are in a mangrove forest so be prepared to deal with mosquitoes, nothing a good spray can’t fix. Basically the only place in ambergris caye where you can escape the horrendous sargassum pest afflicting this part of the Caribbean."

"Loved having everything in the room & on the property. From bottle opener & to delicious well prepared meals onsite. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean & well equipped. The hotel is about 45 minutes away from downtown via golf cart but I planned accordingly and enjoyed onsite and nearby amenities. Front desk main staffer. I cannot remember his name but he guided and helped on every topic, even prior to arrival! He was the best & I’m sorry I cannot remember his name. He made our stay phenomenal."
