"We stayed in the tatami room on top - a bit difficult due to the staircase, but perfectly nice and quiet. The place is a hostel, but I cannot really comment on the hostel part. What I can say is that Shinpei is fluent in English and that is a great help, especially as he's a very nice guy. If you want to saty near Dogo Onsen and are on a budget: Very good choice."

"An absolute gem. We loved the whole experience. Great little bar area where you can eat your own food & drink, & play cards at night We had the room on the first floor. Amazing views over the pagoda, town & bridge in the distance. Staff were fantastic- really helpful. We cooked a simple spaghetti meal, but bought breakfast in the morning.
