"It’s right on highway 1 between Selfoss and Vik so that’s a plus point, near by gas station and groceries store are also a plus point. Breakfast spread is decent nothing special but great to grab and go or dine in before heading out. I’m taking a star away because staff just put me in circles in helping a night cancellation charges and had me talk to multiple people instead of the one who would make the decision and in the end they gave me a wrong email (Which bounced ) to contact manager, decent thing would be to just say no that we can’t help and I’d be on my ways."

"It is a very clean and well maintained property with incredible views of the plains, grass, hills and wild horses roaming in the back. Owner has 2 friendly dogs and it is fun to play with them as they roam the backyard. The place is small but has everything 2 people may need. The road is not paved, so drive carefully."

"High winds at sea delayed our ferry, so our overall trip to Vestmann Island was cut short, but we made the most of our time. Lava Guesthouse was very centrally located and wonderfully clean and comfortable. The bathroom, in particular, was quite nice, and the kitchen facilities were an added plus. I wish we could have stayed much longer!"

"Great location to use as a base for our visit of the islands. We rented the full apartment but it was apparent it could also be used as two separate rooms rented out with a shared bathroom- so one bedroom was actually the kitchenette. Just need to be aware if you actually plan to use the kitchen that it is a bedroom! On street parking . Never saw the owner but comunication was great through Expedia app."

"These are individual cabins in a stunning setting with waterfalls in the background. The interiors and exterior are beautifully designed in a modern esthetic. Unfortunately for us, the common lodge (lobby, sauna, restaurant) is still under construction and it wasn’t entirely clear when we booked it that there would be no other amenities besides our cabin. The access road as a result was an uneven construction road, which was not ideal. For the price of this luxury accommodation, we had some other small expectations - there was no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion; all communication was through a ChatBot and then follow up chatting with individuals. It was nice to have the privacy, but also somewhat lacking in welcome."
