Nice hotel; very friendly/helpful staff, very clean, generously sized room, good food. Building was cold and couldn’t really get the room warm all night. Town is very small, very limited options outside of hotel.

This is a converted bank to guest rooms. Room was decorated with an “antique” style. Everything thing spotless, shower a bit small. No staff on premises. Checkin at local eatery quick and easy, but I felt the reception person was a bit condescending. Only had to see him once, so past that. Small fishing town , not much to do. Nice meal at El Grillo.

Cool, slightly spooky (but added to the fun of it) hotel property. Comfortable. Seydisfjordur is stunning, although slightly spoilt when the hordes of cruise ship passengers arrive in the village.

A Gem
This town is a real gem and staying at the old Bank was a wonderful experience. The drive here was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.

Nice hotel, but not sure why we visited
Nice property and comfortable room, though it was very hot on arrival and we needed to leave a large window open for some hours. TBH, no fault of the hotel, we were underwhelmed by the town.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the property. Town was amazing and drive in and out was spectacular. Property was clean, comfortable and as expected. Dinner was great.

The location was amazing. Gorgeous scenery. Except for the humungous cruise ships that were docked in the fjord. HOWEVER, the building, an old bank I was told, had a front door that slammed shut, stairs that creaked, and the ability to hear every footfall from the room on the floor above. Without earplugs, one can forget about sleeping. So that diminished and otherwise superb experience. The food in the dining room was only so-so.

Fantastic Stay
We had an amazing time - the staff was friendly and very helpful. Parking was great and the accommodations were beautiful and functional. Our favorite stop of our ring road drive.

We stayed at the Aldan during a snow storm - when the actual Aldan Hotel was closed for renovations. There was no staff on hand due to the weather- probably would have made sense for the Hotel to close for the winter since the only place opened was a pizza restaurant- which was very good.

The well decorated and beautiful older Bankinn building for our lodging and the cafe building were lovely and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and overnight in this special town.

Nice room in older building
The room was nice but be aware that the front door is on a self closer and can be very loud if other guests are not considerate late at night. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

This historic property provided a wonderful stay. The room was furnished with antiques and was very well kept. Parking was easy, the hotel restaurant was very good, and the town is walkable.

Hotel Alden has several properties with rooms and the one we stayed in was quite nice (just in back of the blue church). Clean, comfortable beds, parking. Hotel Alden offers b'fast for a fee and it was very good with plenty of options. They also have a great coffee/cappuccino selection and the gentleman who made us our drinks was great. My only complaint were the pillows - too soft for my liking but that would not prevent me from staying there again.

Seydisfjordur is a gorgeous village, and Aldan was a perfect place to stay. Beat stop of our two weeks in Iceland. Restaurant is too-notch. Staff are very helpful and so friendly. Highly recommended.

My wife and I really loved the tasteful decor and furniture. My kids loved the loft and bed with the skylight. The lobby and restaurant were very nice. If there was any complaint luckily since the hotel was not fully booked the creaking and loudness of the floors was fine but probably very loud when fully booked. But obviously this added to the historic feel of the building.

This is the most charming place we’ve stayed in Iceland. The property is historic but modernized in a tasteful way. Highly recommend eating dinner in the Nordic restaurant located in the Alden. Food was outstanding.

This is very charming hotel. The room was comfortable. The floors are wooden and you can hear the fellow guests walk. Our room was close to the door and you can hear it open and close ( some folks check-in late)!
