Location is great! We previously stayed in Visalia, but the amount of driving limited what we could do. Wuksachi is 20 minutes away from the giant forest, so we could stay in the park well after sunset. We came at the first re-opening of the season.
The food was a mixed bag. Some of it was great, and unbeatable in such a remote place. But for the cost, I think sometimes it was pretty unpalatable. I would particularly like to draw attention to the breakfast pastries, which were excellent on the first day, but VERY bland and soggy on the second day.
The room was quiet, and generally clean. We did notice the ceiling fan was pretty dusty, but we didn’t use it much given the temperature. Where it mattered (bathroom, bed, tables), surfaces were clean and ready.
Overall, I would recommend Wuksachi for the location and reasonable accommodations, with the caveat that there is room for improvement.
