Highly recomend.
Excellent location. Just 20 metres away from a road filled with gift shops. many Western and Korean restaurants just a few minutes walk. Close to many subway stations. Very helpful and friendly hotel staff. Room a little old and small but for a short trip the room was ok.Would gladly stay here again.

Nice hotel and good service
First time to stay in this hotel. It was very quick upon check. The Korean receptionist was so nice and friendly. They have very slow elevator/lift but it's better than nothing. The room was not so big but they have comfortable bed, bath tub, free toiletries, free 2 bottles of water and 2 cans of juice. They even have hair blower. and personal computer inside the room. There are a lot of restaurants, souvenir shops, and anything nearby because it is situated at the Korean Art Street in Insadong. It is also near at Anguk subway station (5-10 minutes walk). It is near also at Gyeongbukgung Palace (only 10-15 minutes walk) and also to Bukchong Village.

Nice hotel. Has shops and restaurants close by. It was very easy to find and close to public transportation. The palaces were a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Only thing I didn’t like was the room was incredibly hot because of the heated floors.

This hotel was kind of out of the way. Both my drivers had issues finding it. I learned the area within the day and things became much easier to navigate. The hotel was located within walking distance from great shopping, local culture, and the train station. I walked from Seoul City Hall to this hotel with no issues. It was easy to get around.

Convinient location
I spent a couple of nights as I had some appointments in Seoul. The location is very convenient, the staff very friendly and the room while basic even had a computer!

Basic room in an very good location
This is my second time staying here. I like the excellent location that's right in the middle Insadong, which is a very convenient base for visiting various sights around Seoul. The room is basic but clean. The really down side is there is no wifi, although there is a old desktop computer with internet connection. As I single traveller, I think this room beats staying in a hostel bunk bed.

Great location
The location is really convenient; right at the heart of Insadong area. It's quiet enough.They do some basic cleaning of the room daily, too. The receptionists are kind and helpful in giving directions/ information despite their limited English. The room overall is just okay, if not too old-looking.

Great Situation
A nice hotel of short stays, located in Insadong neighborhood. From the hotel you can walk to most interesting places and monuments.

stay there is you do not wish to sleep
This place is noisy 24 hours a day. The street nose goes through your walls. When I stayed there the owner had construction going on right outside my window as well. It is unclean, unsafe, dirty and cheap. The blanket is so dirty and without sheets wrapping around it. Yes, you sleep underneath a filthy blanket and you couldn't sleep because of constant noise. They provide you with one piece of soap stuck on a stick which you wipe it with all other users. Walls have cracks but not repaired. Wires running on the ground. WiFi could not reach to the rooms.....No staff understands English. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this junky place.

Great location and exceeded expectations
For the price, this place cannot be beat. Excellent location, only 15 steps to the Insadong shopping street. Plenty of eating choices in a 10-minute walk radius. It was very cold in Seoul during my work trip, and the floor of the room is heated, as well as a bed-sized heating bad under the sheet. I stayed nice and work without getting too hot. Free water (2 bottles) and 2 boxes of juice everyday. The front desk was very helpful and enjoyed my stay very much. Yes, it is a small, inexpensive boutique hotel but it exceeded all of my expectations considering the price. If you want to save some money, you won't be wrong for staying here. Disclaimer: I traveled alone. The rooms may be too small for a family.

Good Location
This hotel is perfect for someone wanting a private room for a good price. I had to go to the Embassy and rather than fight the crowds on the subway--I stayed here and walked within five minutes. It is also close to many attractions in Seoul, Palaces, Insa-dong, Jongno, etc.

Decent value
Great location in Insadong. We chose this hotel because it was about half the price of the others we were looking at. The room was small and the hotel had a run-down feel to it, but overall we were relatively happy with our stay. Our bedding and towels seemed clean enough and the room had a refrigerator with complimentary water and juice boxes. Would recommend to those looking for a cheaper option in a convenient location for sightseeing.

Basic but clean and comfortable
Overall quite small room and without window but it is a comfortable stay. Surrounded by a lot of restaurants, pub and bar you will constantly see people smoking outside the street/ road mostly patroned by business people after work. Not much of cheap food around average 13K for a meal.

Cheap and excellent location
Serim Hotel is a very cheap and at a good location where is centeral area of Seoul tour. Easy to use transportation such as subway or bus. You can go anywhere in Seoul within 1 hour. Hotel is small, old and has no facilities but cheap, clean and comfortable. The refrigerator should be more quiet or it can be powered off at least in the night.

Great location but a bit run down
The hotel is a bit rundown and looks generally shabby. But you get what you pay for, right. The hotel staff was hit or miss. The short-haired chap that checked me in was very polite and kind. The long-haired chap the following morning was pretty rude and direct. Not the greatest hotel but I might stay again.

Good value for money in a very nice location
The location of the hotel is great. It is right in the middle of Insadong, just behind Insadong Maru, very near to the Anguk and Jongno subway stations and airport bus-stops. The room is basic and small. I booked a traditional room so it doesn't feel as cramped. Over all it is a pleasant stay and very good value for money.

Great value for small hotel room in Insadong
Great value for money (we paid about USD40 per night) for budget hotel. Quiet surrounding although near the heart of Insadong tourist hub. Near to 2 subway stations (Anguk Station, Line 3, Exit 6 and Jonggak Stn, Line 1, Exit 11). About 10 min walk to both. Lots of eateries selling Korean food nearby. Walking distance to 3 palaces and Gwangjang Market.

Overall, a good hotel.
Cleanliness is adequate but can be improved. Cleaning staff did not wipe mirror in bathroom before my check-in and in next 5 days. Likewise, bedroom floor should be mopped/vacuumed more thoroughly daily. i was also shocked to see a cleaner counting/sorting out neatly folded, CLEAN towels layed on the floor near staircase on 2nd floor at 8+am one morning!! On the other hand, it is probably not necessary to change bedsheet on daily basis for the same room-guest as a more environment-friendly practice. One point that has not been noted in earlier reviews is that the hotel does NOT have non-smoking rooms. Room may reek of stale cigarette smoke (like mine did!) and if the hotel is fully occupied, it is not possible to change rooms. i have deducted 1 point from the score for this.

A good place where to stay.
I stayed for three days there. It is in a very good location near to important tourist attractions such as palaces and museums. Also, the airport limousine passes by and it is very convenient to have all kind of restaurants and convenient stores around. The staff is friendly and the front desk is open 24 hours. I cannot comment of Air conditioning or heating system since the weather was very nice during my stay and I spent most of my time outside.

Great location
I stayed for two weeks. Location is great. There are three buses from incheon airport,6002, 6005 & 6011. Also two subway stations are close by. My bed was not really comfortable but hard enough for me. Cleaning was ok level. Price was really good. There were three staff members and one wasn't friendly at all but rest of them were very nice. Laundry was free!

4 night stay at this budget hotel.
Staff are very friendly, small elevator, excellent location. Should do away with the bathtub and have a shower area instead. Or if not, at least install a handle bar to hold on to while climbing in and out of bathtub. Regular amenities not included in room are toothbrush, shave razor and drinking water. Not deal breaker but good to have.

Good location friendly staff
I was too lazy to wash my clothes so I had been buying new shirts and underwear everyday, lucky the staff at this hotel did my washing for me (and neatly folded it all and returned it to my room). Only real downside was a woman "singing" opera versions of queen and Simon & Garfunkel outside my window a couple nights. Genuinely the worst thing I ever heard and I had to leave my room when it was occuring.

Saerim Hotel
The hotel was inexpensive, conveniently located, and easy to find. Walking distance to Jonggak Subway Station (itself only two stops from Seoul Station). I would suggest using Google Earth to find the location of the hotel relative to the Jonggak subway station.Many options for dining and sight-seeing were located within walking-distance from the hotel. Room had a neat retro-looking bathroom with odd color choices. The staff behaved as expected with a business-type hotel. I would stay here again without hesitation.
