Decent stay at the lake

I would say this place is ideal for a weekend by the lake. There is hot water, clean bedding, direct access to the lake, and a nice bar area. The pool is also great. The people who work here are really helpful and nice. Its not a luxury stay but very nice.

Very convenient to Ilala. Nice location

We stayed in the standard room which included a double bed upstairs and a single bed downstairs with a shower and toilet outside of the room but not very far to walk. It had a lovely balcony that overlooks the water. The service was very attentive and the employees were very friendly and helpful. we took an interesting tour of the local fishing village and hiked up to a peak for a view. As we were vegan they really went out of their way to accommodate us. It is pretty close to where the Ilala ferry comes in.

Getting There...

It was a lovely location in the forest reserve with lots of helpful and friendly staff, a nice beach, and many things to do. We only were able to stay for two days but enjoyed the large family chalet with its lovely balconies. The only issues we had were that the restaurant chef seemed to be by himself or overloaded so it took 1.5 to 2 hours for food to arrive each meal. There were also many gnats in our room at night (harmless but not something you want in your bed) even with mosquito nets. Also it would be great if there was a hairdryer or some emergency toiletries were available, even if just to be signed out from the front desk. This place is wonderful and special with loads of potential. It can be even better moving forward. The monkeys are awesome.

Nice staff, good food, conditions to be improved

The staff was really nice and available, specially the guy in the platform bar. The landscape with view to the lake it's really nice. The food, in general was quite good. As less positive things, there were quite a few animals around, including mosquitos which were quite anoying. The bathroom was outside the bedroom, and the small animals such as some small lizards could be found everywhere, including inside the room. The overall condition of the rooms is not good, while the cleaniness of the overall space and bathroom has some room to improve, with exception of bed and sheets which were properly clean.
