"The apartment was in a very central location, only a few moments away from the main shopping mall in Funchal, and coffee shop almost on the doorstep. There was a kitchenette, washing machine and ironing board provided, and all useful utensils provided (even sachets of oil for using the frying pan). Check in was simple with the use of door codes. We had quick responses via WhatsApp from the company and all our questions were answered. Our flight to Madeira was diverted and we ended up having to...

"Really awful management, had to cancel our stay due to a medical emergency. Had asked management for a letter of cancellation or no show for my insurance policy and they’ve ignored all requests and have refused to provide evidence which means we can’t even go through the travel insurance to get some of the money back. Really disgraceful service and would advise to stay away from booking with such an awful company due to the lack of general help."

10/10 Excellent

"Parking parfait, bien situé"

Barcelo Funchal Oldtown

8/10 Good

"Amazing location, in perfect location for discovering Funchal. Staff are outstanding and breakfast buffet is excellent! Our room was very clean, nice decor and super comfy bed! Only negative for hotel is there are no views from your room (since we were out all day exploring this didn’t matter at all)"

The Editory Garden Carmo Funchal

10/10 Excellent

"We had a great stay here while on our honeymoon! The beds were comfortable and the staff was wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the rooftop pool - although there was never anyone working in the bar at the rooftop pool, but that didn't effect us. The location was convenient for us and we would stay here again!"

Pestana Carlton Madeira Ocean Resort Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Very nice and spacious hotel room. Hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating whenever we had any questions or requests. The breakfast buffet was great too with lots of variety to choose from, as well as staff members clearing tables and providing utensils very quickly."

VILA TOCA by brugrani

8/10 Good

"Good spot, not too far away from the city centre so we walked plenty. Also close to the bus station that took us to one of the hikes. The room had adequate space although the kitchen does feel very tiny. The pool is quite small as well but that might be on us to not have realised. The wardrobe located in the room was very musty so we kept it closed, the room was also on the ground floor so if we had the blinds open anyone outside could look in and see us which we werent expecting. The bathroom was clean but things like the glass divider could have used a clean. The towels were also changed every two days which would have been nice to be communicated upfront."

Hotel Madeira

10/10 Excellent

"Hotel Madeira is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Funchal, offering a fantastic combination of location, comfort, convenience, and relaxation. One of its greatest advantages is its outstanding central location, within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafés, shops, the waterfront, and many of Funchal’s main attractions. It’s an ideal base for exploring the city and discovering everything Madeira has to offer. A standout feature is the wonderful rooftop pool and bar, which provide the perfect setting to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The rooftop offers a relaxing atmosphere, refreshing swimming opportunities, and beautiful views over Funchal. It’s a fantastic bonus for a hotel located right in the city center. The hotel offers a welcoming atmosphere, comfortable accommodations, and excellent convenience for both short visits and longer stays. Overall, Hotel Madeira delivers a great balance of comfort, accessibility, and leisure facilities. Its unbeatable location and delightful rooftop pool and bar make it a fantastic place to stay in Funchal. Highly recommended!"
