Really lovely hotel with beautiful finishes. I thought the welcome beer/water was a lovely touch to kickstart our vacation. Easy walk along the water to get to riverstreet. Friendly staff, with convenient & safe parking right down the road. I have a nespresso machine at home, and really enjoyed waking up to my favorite pod. Bar Julian has amazing food and cocktails, with stunning views. Would definitely stay here again.

The Thompson is everything a hotel should be. There aren’t many hotels left with the same level of service, attention, cleanliness, thought, etc. Will be back!!

This is a beautiful property with lovely amenities but unfortunately it appears they might be short staffed and seem to be more concerned with showcasing their brand rather than the level of service. Bar Julian was hosting private events for half of our stay and was not open for breakfast one morning with no notice. The lobby bar also seems to be chronically understaffed and did not appear to be prepared for weekend service. The other staff was very nice and helpful, especially the bartender at the pool, who could be running the place with how hard she works. Overall the place is very high end but a bit rough around the edges.

Property is clean and new. Chaos in lobby with check in. Very slow service and a very loud dj playing so you could not hear yourself think. Location was not near downtown. Construction all around. For the $ very disappointing!

It was very dog friendly and there were options to allow us to eat at the hotel. It is located in a very nice area and the view of the Savannah river is very nice.

Outstanding newer property. All staff were very attentive from bellman, check in and all inquiries. Daily housekeeping to include fresh towels and robes. Very convenient location, I suggest a riverfront room. Great views of the passing freighters and easy walk to the riverfront shopping district. We visited the rooftop bar for a daily nightcap and it was packed.The bartenders were very engaged and the drinks were great. Order an espresso martini , my wife really raved about hers.There is a great bakery/ coffee shop attached to the hotel, great coffee. Our room met all of our needs, firm bed, plenty of storage space, nepresso machine. Water pressure was very strong. We highly recommend this hotel and will return in the future.

It is a beautiful property that is located right on the river. Unfortunately, there are some industrial sites nearby that may wake you up with a startling smell. We went right back to sleep, and we are not sure there is anything that the property can do about it. But it is good to know that something bad didn't happen in the room or on the property.

The Hotel is new and well maintained. The staff was very welcoming and attentive to all the needs. Although the hotel is just a few hundred yards outside the city center of Savannah, but with a large park area in front of it and right in front of the river, a new and clean walkway (on the river) that passes in front of the hotel will take you directly to the historical port area (restaurants, stores) and just above it to the center of town. A very nice experience overall.

The staff was excellent from the check-in process and throughout the stay. Martrell at the front desk was very helpful! Hotel itself was modern and clean, easy walking distance to everything within the city. Great dining options on-site and friendly service at the restaurants and rooftop bar. Highly recommend!

Our family has always stayed at Perry Lane and decided to give the Thompson a chance this time since we were just passing through on the way to Florida and then on the way back North. The hotel is cute, clean, and easily accessible by car. The rooftop bar/restaurant is definitely a highlight with beautiful views, dedicated staff, and cute, although somewhat limited, middle Eastern menu. The worst part of our stay was the downstairs staff. After a six hour drive our room was not ready for check in until 6 pm. We made the front desk person take off the outrageous resort fee. As well, the doorman seems to be misunderstanding his job. As we were walking in with all our luggage, he just stood there instead of opening the door for my two daughters who were struggling to open the doors with their suitcases in hand while he told them to go through the other door and pull harder. Finally, the front desk lady at check out tried to refuse to provide me with a copy of my invoice, saying I should ask Expedia. I had to explain to her that Expedia would not have my actual restaurant and other hotel charges on file. I think Hyatt should send in a team to train the staff to make the experience more professional and graceful, because the property definitely has potential.

The Thompson has Hyatt quality everything without being a “mega” Hyatt hotel. We had strayed to a couple of other big hotel chains, but actually the Hyatt standards seemed to have increased and exceeded that of their competitors’. Upon check in they offered us a complimentary beer on tap. We did have to wait about 7-minutes past check-in time, but it wasn’t painful for there are several bar options and access to the facilities while we waited. The pool is nice sized and outdoors. There’s no traffic noise and the walls in the rooms aren’t thin, i.e. you can barely hear your neighbors’ blasting tv’s if at all. When you call the front desk an AI answers your questions but gives you an option of accessing a human to help out as well. As of writing this valet parking is $50/day, but there’s a public parking facility next door at $16/day and street parking available across the street. Historic Savannah is about 5-min away by car. It looks like the area around the hotel is still developing and rather new. It’s along the river with a quiet parkway.

Amazing experience after the initial problem that was remedied right away!! I called the hotel around 4pm to inform the hotel we were going to be arriving late from Atlanta -to be sure not to cancel our reservations, as our Expedia reservation was cancelled last year in NYC when we arrived around 8:30pm. Tho Thompson Hyatt hotel rep in Savannah said they could not find our reservations, as another person with our same last name had cancelled their reservations, which is off because our last name is not a common spelling. They reinstated our reservation without any issues. When we arrived Donna &the front desk manager, Tristan couldn’t be more professional and even upgraded our stay due to the misunderstanding. We had them hold our bags since we had a hungry 17 year old and were at the restaurant at 9:20, 10 minutes before they closed, and the waiter and hostess were so kind & never rushed us even though we felt bad to keep them past 9:30. The food was amazing (oysters, spring roles, cheese tray, etc.) By the time we got up to our room the sofa bed was pulled out into a bed with sheets & pillows for my son. The riverfront hotel is new and have a beautiful design & work areas in the lobby, the rooms, gym, and all 3 restaurants (rooftop bar restaurant had beautiful views, design inside and outside) were super clean & the free bike, free Tesla local driver (Charlie, Adonis, Allen) were all our interaction (Tristan/Donna/Amanda concierge/Thayer valets all A ! We will be back!
