"My boyfriend and I stayed for our anniversary and we had a great time. It’s very clean, the beds are very comfortable, and everyone that works there is very pleasant. When we arrived for check in the person that helped us upgraded our room when he found out it was our anniversary. Everything in this hotel is great! "

"Staying at The Royal Sonesta was a unique pleasure. Every element was well thought out and creatively executed from the delightful lobby to the velvet lined elevators, beautiful murals, interesting furnishings and light fixtures into the rooms with lovely flying birds on the wallpaper, a great bed, fabulous bathroom and comfortable couch and sitting area. It was delightful to stay in a place with such personality and comfort in downtown Portland! We were able to walk everywhere easily and the staff were helpful and kind. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!"
