Racist and Rude Manager
Do not book this hotel if you have any standards for yourself. This hotel is very dated and it smells terrible. They have a room for smoking. Yet the entire hall way smells like mold and cigarette smoke. Every night we rushed through the halls to get to our rooms. Thank goodness we brought fragrance spray to help our room with the atrocious odors. As for management, the manager is extremely racist and rude. Aside from his egregious racist attitude, he refused to give us extra pillows because I have neck pain issues. They weren’t any help with Yamato Transportation. Every hotel we have stayed at in Japan (Fukuoka, Kyoto, and Tokyo) have assisted us with Yamato Luggage. This hotel was the exception. We had great experiences at every hotel in our trip around Japan but this hotel! I would give it a complete F!

Spent a day in Otaru for the 2020 snow festival. Authent Hotel in Otaru was great. Clean, convenient, walking distance from the train station via a covered shopping street. Room was available early, which was a plus, given our busy day. All in all a great experience.

Top service, comfort and location
Fantastic service, excellent location about 6 mins walk to JR Station. Very comfortable hotel with generous amenities and good sized room and bathroom.

If you choose to echo cleaning, then they will give you the voucher that you can utilize to shop or other facility such as public bath. It’s good system. The restaurant time at 11F is short, it’s close at 8pm. It can extend to 9pm at least.

The hotel is well located, within 10 mins walking distance to the canal. The room is quite big and the staff are friendly and able to speak English.

The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from the JR Otaru Station, and it's also about 5-10 minutes walk to the Otaru Canal and shopping/tourist district. While the room was clean and comfortable, it has a "old-fashion" style (e.g. use physical key instead of key card). We do enjoy our stay at the hotel.

We stayed at the Authent Hotel for three nights and found it very comfortable, clean, quiet and within easy access to the train station and the major attractions that the town offers. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful place with great location
Very nice, beautiful place. Has a European ambience. Comfortable stay. Hotel is conveniently located near to train station, Otaru Canal, and the street where most of the tourist attractions are.

Had a flawless and friendly experience
The staff here were wonderful. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was problem free and a great experience. The free breakfast was very nice with an amazing virgen from the dining room. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the general manager. I would definitely come back here again.

Clean comfortable room with free wifi
Parking was available at JPY1000 per night. Location was a little walking distance to the canal and popular cafes / attractions but close to the shopping and food alleys. Clean and comfortable twin room.
