Vila Gale Lagos Resort Hotel

8/10 Good

"They had a hot tub and a spa and large room. Their food was delicious and cheaper than i thought. The downside they had fewer staff outside the pool area to ask for help. The best thing they had the best customer service at the front desk, we had to ask them a big favor since expedia had a glitch on our reservation and they allowed 4 of us to stay in the family room instead of 3 without charging us an extra fee.😊"

"Property is tired. Rooms are clean but look tired. Pool area very, I feel, dodgy. Lots of uneven cobble lock and cement around. Stubbed foot and trod on gravel it hurt. Areas sunken and uneven. I got the arm of the bed side light in the head. It's skinny and sharp and possibly dangerous. Light bulbs of different colours in same room. Floor covering is lifting in some parts of the room. Sun Beds are old and tired need upgrading. They were there when I was last there nearly 10 years ago. Basically it needs work."

"I stayed at the Casacade apartment and suites for 2 nights. The location is good as a base to explore the Algarve region, and the building has a gated parking area. The suite I got was nice with a separate bedroom, small living room, a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bedroom had two beds, one double and one single. As I was travelling alone this was plenty. I didn't get to try the breakfast so cannot comment on that. The suite was a bit dated and could use some renovating but overall it was a decent place for a couple of nights."

"The room and the entire hotel were freshly and tastefully modernized. Every inch was spotless. The breakfast was ok but abundant. Not being a European the choices were much different than one would expect from a US restaurant. An omelet chef would have been a good option. The weather in mid May was much cooler than we anticipated. The hotel was just across the street from a very large sandy beach. The pool was nice and a pair of lounge chairs were always available with an umbrella. Many reasonably priced food options were available on the street directly in front of the hotel. The street was largely closed to non essential vehicle traffic making a stroll to find your choice of bar restaurant or gelato shops easy to walk to. The area was very relaxing. Not a place I would recommend for nightlife."
