"Aux Charmes was our stopover the night before crossing from Calais on our way home to Scotland. We have stayed in several locations whilst making our road trips and Boulogne Sur Mer has become our preferred place to enjoy a last evening on the Mainland! Aux Charmes has been a great find. It is in a quiet Cul De Sac, yet a very short drive to Boulogne, and equally the A16 motorway. Even I, as a Scotsman did not mind the fact that we had to pay a toll before the free section to Calais. "Stopped the night on way to Calais ferry. Unfortunately that night only one bar in walking distance was serving food and they were full. So we had drive to find an eatery. Wont be stopping in Ardres again."

"Quick and easy check in. Room was clean but had no amenities (kettle, coffee, etc) but there is a coffee machine and vending machine near the entrance. Parking was close. Staff were friendly and was perfect for a one night stay in Calais before we headed home."

"Large free car park and very pleasant lady on reception.Clearly somebody smoking drugs as the overpowering smell in the corridor which also seeped into our room forced us to request another room which was organised.Very sparse and basic breakfast but the couldn’t care less attitude of the male on reception in the morning was truly appalling."
