"Stayed in the apartment at the rear of the property. What a great self contained area this was. Room was spotless and very well maintained. All staff from check in, bar and at breakfast were exceptional. Breakfast was included and was great and they are happy to adjust anything on the menu to suit. We had our dog with us and she was most welcome in the hotel too for a £10 a night supplement."

"This is exactly what I pictured when I imagined staying in Scotland. The house is beautiful and the owners along with their two dogs could not be anymore wonderful. We also had one of our best breakfasts in Scotland."

"I booked the room for my colleague, she said, "the hotel is dodgy, quite dirty and a hostel with interesting characters, smells of weed and generally no safety… the breakfast was really bad and I was the only one there… it seems like it’s not a hotel that is actually used for tourism/business." "Great location with an easy clifftop walk to Slain (Draculas) castle. Memorabilia of the town and Golf course was really intriguing. Good sized bed, large room with outdoor courtyard was a real bonus. Food and Drinks were fantastic (Try the beef pie) Some lights in the room did not work but overall really enjoyed our stay."

"The property was clean and modern. The bar area lovely and the breakfast was included in the price which was very reasonable. We did have a problem with hot water and the electricity went out in our room. The staff was very responsive but could have comped us for our troubles. Cold showers, etc. All that said, it was very convenient and worth the stay."

"I spent five days at the lodge. The staff is excellent. Most have been working at the lodge for 20+ years. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and bathroom was small but functional. I appreciated being able to open the windows at night for fresh air. The pub is first rate. I strongly suggest having breakfast there. "Super convenient in central Aberdeen, across fro mthe tarin/bus stations. If convenience and affordability is a prority; this fitts the bill. Rooms are a bit dated, had a tiny single bed, but it was OK. No lift; stairs only. You open 3 locked doors to enter the room, so it is quite secure. Avoid rooms on the east side of the hotel if you will be there on a friday or saturday night as the adjacent club has loud sing-along karaoke. No lobby, just a window to check in, but otherwise the stafff...

"Booked a twin and double room. Rooms clean and well appointed with a communal kitchen area for use by guests. Did not use breakfast service as we left in the morning before the hotel staff had arrived. Only small complaint was that the staff were unable to open the connecting door between the 2 rooms which would have made things a lot easier. "

"This is NOT a good stay! And the service even worse. Clearly at one point this was a vibrant bustling hub, when we stayey it was an absolute Ghost town. I was emailed to check in online, a bumpy process to say the leaset. After wasting 20 minutes on it I was told just to check in at the hotel. I saw 2 staff members for the duration of the stay, one told me to pay fo parking, the other told me it was free. I didnt take the chance and paid the overpriced parking, despite the underground...
