Great stay at this property. The beds were comfy, the room was clean and the staff were nice. The included breakfast was so tasty and the restaurant at night had a fun atmosphere and great menu.
Its perfectly located in town with anything you need justvsteps away. We had a rental car and they showed us where to street park and everything felt safe. Would stay here again!
The room was in a perfect, walkable location and very comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice having the restaurant right there for drinks and ice. I ordered the fish fingers That evening and I think they were probably the best I've ever had. Breakfast was great also! Bed was pretty comfortable also.Definitely recommend this spot
My stay at El Caite was absolutely amazing! The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of San Juan del Sur, close to everything, including great restaurants, shops, and all the main attractions.
The bar downstairs is simply outstanding. The service is impeccable, the staff are friendly and professional, and the overall atmosphere is exactly what you want when staying in a vibrant beach town.
I will definitely be coming back without hesitation and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting San Juan del Sur!
This was a perfectly situated place to rest between long days at the beaches near by. Clean and comfortable beds. Loved having my own washroom and shower. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.
Great location. Nice rooms, comfy bed. AC and hot shower.
The walls were thin though so if you are on the ground floor expect some noise from the street and the restaurant.
This was a lovely little hotel right in the center of town, making it easy to reach every place in the area. My room was clean, comfortable and felt spacious enough to hang out in.
Great place to stay if you are playing around SJDS. Breakfast is great. The WIFI was annoying in the room we were staying in which kind of sucked.

I believe that their add on Expedia says beach property. It’s a block away. They have a nice restaurant but restaurant patio is 4 feet away on an open patio. You can hear them as well they would hear you too?
The rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Near the beach and restaurants. No pool.

air conditioning was excellent. We didn't eat breakfast but were offered it. It's a good restaurant so assuming it would be good. The only drawback is for older people as there's a steep set of stairs if your room is top floor. Otherwise, it seems good value.
The Caite hotel was formerly the “Barrio Cafe” and hotel. For about $40 per night including breakfast, you can’t beat it. The cafe and restaurant have excellent food, coffee and beverages. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the air conditioning is cold. I don’t spend much time in the room, so I don’t need more expensive accommodations. I have stayed the 3 times before and will stay there again.
Safe did not work and staff did not seem interested. Instead they said the safes in all the rooms didn’t work and shrugged shoulders. Otherwise, the room was quite clean and well-kept. I had to leave before breakfast so I did not have a chance to try it.
Very safe spot with security all night. In my case the room was very clean. No bugs. Room #6 on the balcony. Very comfortable bed and pillows. I believe the rooms have newly been built so they're modern.theres a restaurant inside so food/drinks are always available. Breakfast was included and also very good. Stayed a Friday and Saturday night. All in all, no complaints 10/10. Will be back there on my next trip!
It’s a small room, no rack to put luggages; requested chairs was privided. Bed was comfortable. Room had balcony; was raining most of the time so wasn’t able to enjoy it. Some loud noises in the area on some nights. Close to the beach and restaurants, convenient.
Breakfast choices can be modified. Tiresome to be eating the same especially when you’re there over 2 days. Staff were nice and helpful.
Loved staying here especially **during a weekday** staff and guest were polite about the noise and respected closing time at the bar making it quiet after 9/10pm.
The restaurant is styled like a sports bar, it has great breakfast selections, not sure about lunch/dinner. The coffee options were 10/10. For a hostel it felt more like what tourist can expect at Hotels: clean sheets, comfortable bed/pillows, towels, great a/c, tv with apps, and your private bathroom.
Disclosure rollaway beds are not available here. There’s no parking but I had no issue parking my car on the street.
Overall I would stay here again, not sure how noisy it can get on the weekends considering other reviewers but like I mentioned that wasn’t an issue for me during the week.
I will start with the positive of El Caite which is its location - it’s very close to the beach, restaurants, and shops. We enjoyed the convenience.
The negative was our room had a broken door which let in warm air and noise. It’s a busy street. The room wasn’t very clean. The floor and bathroom had a lot of hair on it. I noticed a red stain (yikes) on one of the bath towels. Hot water was intermittent which is not uncommon for Nicaragua. I never felt like the staff was very friendly especially compared to other places in Nicaragua. Overall our stay was just OK. I think it was overpriced for what we got.
Location is perfect! Just a couple blocks from the beach, and close to so many great bars and other spots. Room is small, but AC is cold and beds are comfy. We will definitely stay here again!
