After looking at multiple different hotels, we settled with this hotel, which was not cheap for what we got. Just like others have mentioned, I was surprised to not have parking at the property. You can opt to valet for $47 or try and find parking yourself. Either way, it was inconvenient. The staff there were very friendly and professional, but the property itself was another story. The room my family and I stayed in was pretty bad. The carpets look and feel old. The windows were covered with spider webs, inside and out, the curtains were half broken, but were able to be closed with some effort. The bathroom was very dirty and dusty, broken tiles and the shower floor had a huge crack on it. It’s something you would expect at a very low budget hotel at a truck stop in the middle of nowhere. The dust was simply ridiculous. My son was sneezing so much from it. The only positives were the location’s convenience and the friendly staff. It was unfortunate that the pictures for the hotel on Expedia were deceptive. The actual hotel room did not look like the room we got. Learn from our mistake and look elsewhere.

Simply beautiful hotel with hospitable staff. Somewhat rough downtown location. Sorry the bar didn’t have any snacks: would be an easy fix.

Everything was great except the room did not have a room number listed on it, but the other rooms had numbers on them. the toilet was running non stop through out the night. Besides that the staff was friendly and the room was clean.

Hotel feels hunkered down. Main entry closed. Key necessary for side entry. Dining room no longer used looks abandoned. No real food options. Little side coffee shop was untended when we went in and had little to offer. Clock in room was not set to daylight savings and we could not operate it ourselves. This just a sign of inattention since room had to have been made up multiple times. Person who cleaned room did not leave any cups. We had to go to desk to get one. Desk clerk could not make change. -- had no cash.

There was loud protesting for hours on the street. Employees there aren’t happy about pay. The rooms smelled heavily of carpet cleaning chemicals, gave me a headache. Had to open the window. Bed is comfortable. The concierge parking was great. Small coffee shop has iced coffee on the menu, but said they didn’t have ice…even though there’s ice on every floor. Service was good- they gave us another room, but it smelled heavily of chemicals too. They tried their best, but the hotel needs updating.

Nice historic hotel in a nice part of San Jose. We enjoyed restaurants and entertainment, walking distance to the sharks game. Staff was very friendly and room is very comfortable.

We stayed one night to attend a Sharks game. Was perfect location to easily walk to and back, they provided ear plugs which made me nervous but definitely not needed. Very cute and charming place to stay.

I am a paraplegic and they would not allow my party to check in. They profiled the guests that were approved to stay there. They took our payment for the room and refused to let us check in and refuse to refund a room that we were not allowed to check in to.

Not so handicap accessible tub
The room was nice but once we started walking around you noticed drywall patches unpainted wall paper is peeling off from the wall holes not repaired. I booked a handicap wheelchair accessible but got a room with a tub that's not wheelchair accessible. The controls to the shower where confusing water took too long to get hot wasting water and everyones time getting ready for the 49er game which we were late for we paid a lot of money for a room that wasn't useable to the handicap individual

As expected
The Hotel De Anza was advertised as a 4-star hotel, and they generally lived up to the rating. The facility is in contemporary condition and clean. The only two problems our party had was one of the front desk staff and I didn't communicate well (nothing rude, just like he was on a different wavelength than me) and their restaurant was not open for breakfast.

Beware of parking
Hotel is very nice and clean the only wrong thing with this hotel is their parking situation! Be prepared to pay up to 50.00 dollars a night for valet parking because that’s all the have unless you go find parking on your own but risk getting towed … also our car rental was badly scratched while in their possession so be aware !! I didn’t notice it till I had driven off and was at the gas station … young kid parking cars was overwhelmed and hopefully I dint get charged for that big scratch or you’ll be hearing from me further

We have stayed here a lot of times over the years but this time was disappointing.. the place was super clean and the staff friendly and our room was vary nice but the A/C was not working right and the room was vary hot and the pillows were small and lumpy/ the bed was vary hard ( some people like that but I don’t) I know all things aside I will try again..

The property was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a nice view of the city lights from our room.There are several dining options within reasonable walking distance. Otherall the hotel was very nice with a bit of an old world classic theme. Our only disappointment was that the Jazz Bar/lounge is no longer in operation. This was one of the main reasons for picking this hotel. The web site was inconsistent concerning the Jazz Bar status and we thought it was in operation ... until we arrived and were informed by the staff.

Enjoyed the stay, would have given a 4.5/5 only because I could hear everything outside and a good amount from other rooms and outside my room. Staff does provide earplugs for sleep as they are located in a busier downtown area but it was worth a mention. Would stay again in the future but may elect a different hotel if my stay was longer than 2 nights.

Staff was friendly. Was not aware of the required valet parking which was $47 and my car was parked outside so not sure why they charge for that. The room was mostly fine. Bathroom had mold on the ceiling and no fan working. Bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. When I let the lady at the front desk know about the mold, she just said I’m sorry and nothing else.

I’m a sports fan. I was there for a sporting event. I can’t believe, with all of the channels they had available on TV, no ESPN. Might not be a biggie to some, but was annoying to me.
