"Tania and Andy were excellent hosts. They were incredibly helpful with all our needs (especially getting taxis) and very responsive. The space is kept up very nicely. Probably the best highlight of the room was the shower! All of the amenities were exactly as advertised as well. "The people are absolutely nice! The listing has a number of misinformation. 1. It says property is connected to a Shopping Centre, no! It's a residential house with rooms to rent. 2. The room I had booked was a room with pool view but the one given had no view at all. If you open, you get to see wall, if you want air-conditioning, none. The listing also says you get the whole property to yourself, no, you just get a room with no room amenities at all. Food is okay, breakfast was good."

"They advertise luggage storage but all that means is that you can leave luggage in your room. Further, we accidentally double booked and even after reaching out 5 minutes after booking, the only option was to pay the cancellation fee which was the full price of the room... would not recommend at all. Rather, "Casa David y Lidia Diaz, San Miguel, Havana, Cuba" was an excellent night and I would recommend them for any travellers. "

"We absolutely loved our stay here at this beautiful historic converted home. From our arrival through to our departure and everything in between we received nothing short of the most amazing warm Cuban hospitality offered in Old Havana . Richard and his team bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable and memorable at Hostal Balcones. Mariana the manager is an absolute angel who made sure each day for us was easily planned organising bookings and transport along the way. The rest of the beautiful Balcones staff also made us so very much at home that we almost felt like family. It’s a thoughtfully restored historical home that has been filled with eclectic collections of antiques and curiosities and you really feel you are stepping back in time with so much to admire and enjoy. With a very generous breakfast included daily cooked by the lovely Louisandra the chef, to laughs and salsa dancing with our room maid Jordania followed by our vote of the best Mojito in Havana in a tea pot made by Mariana the mixologist manager our stay couldn’t have been more perfect. Do yourself a favour and get a taste of Cuban life in the centre of old Havana by booking your stay at this gem."
