Unique and convenient. A very central location. Very reasonable and excellent amenities for the price. During the day neighborhood great but stay in at night. Hostel is very safe and only 4 to a room.

We stayed here for 4 nights, and we were three girls. We loved this place, and it was in such a convenient location that we never felt unsafe! One thing to note is that the place does not provide plates, oil, salt pepper. Great overall.

Hostel is well located, walking distance to most of the main attractions in downtown; but it’s extremely noisy. Unfortunately, my experience was not completely positive. Maybe if you room is indoors and not face the street you can catch up some sleep.

Good for the price, clean and everything worked. The neighborhood is not great and is noisy late into the night, but the property was secure and a good value.

They did not check me in nor advise me ahead that Orange Billage Hostel does not accept residets from San Francisco. This was my first hotel/ hostel that did not accept my reservation. I've been staying in Marriot/ Hyatt and other hotels in union square SF since 2018. Terrible

The staff were nice and the room was very chic, but there was just a liiittle bit of sketchiness in the check-in process. The fact that they did the bookkeeping on paper felt outdated and the $5 deposit for keys felt weird. But they said they're gonna switch to key cards at some point soon so that'll be nice for future residents. Aside from that it was really nice for the price.

Great central spot in San Fran!
Great spot for backpackers! People will tell you the neighbourhood looks rough, but it's not bad. Just stay alert like with travelling anywhere. The hostel staff are amazing! So friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is plentiful and has variety (toast, cereal, yoghurt, bananas, plus coffee and tea). The hostel rooms are clean enough, what you'd expect from a backpackers with everything a little older but still functional and comfortable. Loved it there, would definitely stay again!

Worst Christmas ever
I was overcharged $107. Manager refused to refund my money. I told her multiple times i booked thru hotels.com and already paid my booking with credit card. They made me pay cash too and refused to refund. This woman should not be allowed to manage business.

Staff was very friendly and the location was convenient for transit. It was hot at night so we had the windows open, which made for a noisy night. It's in a bit rougher part of the city but I was a single female traveller and didn't have any problems. I was uncomfortable with the breakfast set-up due to COVID but I saw it was quite popular. On our floor there were 2 bathroom closets (toilet with built-in sink) and 2 bathrooms that had showers.

in the bunk rooms no space to put anything and there were a few tents set up across the street. You have to buy your own lock and key for the lockers at the adjacent liquor store. The lockers are cheap and more fit for children instead of adults. The bathroom was so small and had no sink; because the toilet has a sink ON THE BACK TANK that automatically runs upon flushing. The window is flimsy and old fashioned push up/down style.
