Short break

It was my first time in a Gasthof, and this one was a very good suprise, the room was very clean, and had a gigantic shower, the view to the Bavarian Alps was amazing. The restaurant is very Austrian traditional with fabulous food, the family that runs this Gasthof is really friendly and helpful, very good place for resting after bycicle trips. Overall was an amazing experience and i know were to stay next time when visiting Salzburg. Ps take bus number 5 , takes 20 min to city center.

The staff are all friendly, helpful, and very hospitable. The breakfast was lovely, and we also dined at the restaurant for dinner, which was delicious. The balcony opened on a gorgeous view of the mountainside. Please note, the property does not have an elevator, so you'll need to carry your things up one flight of stairs. But this was one of our favorite stays on this trip, and it centrally located for visits to Salzburg, Hallstatt, and Berchtesgaden.

Our extended family has been eating and staying here for over 50 years!! Excellent family run hotel - good service and food and value for the cost. Excellent location for walking to Hellbrun Castle where part of the Sound of Music was filmed and other well known places.

Wished we could have stayed much longer.

Large, comfortable room with large, clean bathroom and full, walk-in shower. Floor-to-ceiling windows that could be opened at night for cooler air (no air-conditioning), that led to a private balcony overlooking a large meadow and the Alps beyond. Very large European breakfast from a self-serve bar was open from 7-10am, and the front desk was able to call us a cab, when we didn't want to walk one block to the bus. This hotel is very close to Schloß Hellbrun, so it was easy to get there right at 10am and beat the crowds. Large shaded patio areas and full restaurant menu available throughout the day. Beautiful hand-painted Bavarian illustrations and labels throughout the common areas.

Etwas Außerhalb von Salzburg wobei die Stadtmitte in 15 min mit dem Auto zu erreichen ist. Dafür hat man in der Nacht seine selige Ruhe. Gute Küche, allein schon die Salzburger Nockerln sind einen Aufenthalt wert.

Gemütliches Hotel mit hervorragendem Restaurant

Sehr gute und sehr ruhige Lage des Hotels - mit dem Auto erreicht man das Stadtzentrum problemlos in nur wenigen Minuten. Wir konnten schon bei unserer Ankunft um 12 Uhr am Empfang direkt einchecken und sofort unser Zimmer beziehen (und nicht erst um 14 Uhr). Das war schon gleich einmal wunderbar ! Das Badezimmer bot eine geräumige Dusche und ein Doppelwaschbecken - sehr schön ! Unser Zimmer selbst war altmodisch, aber eben gemütlich eingerichtet. Alles war absolut sauber und jeden Tag sorgte der Zimmerservice für Ordnung. Ein Kritikpunkt: Man liegt im Bett durch nur ein Kissen sehr sehr flach. Es wäre meines Erachtens unbedingt erforderlich, zusätzliche Kissen auf der Couch oder im Schrank zu lagern, um eine höhere Kopfposition beim Schlafen zu ermöglichen ! Wir hatten zum Glück im Auto noch ein paar Kissen dabei, um uns selbst zu behelfen ... Jedoch muss man sagen, dass die Matratzen sehr gut sind. Beim Frühstücksbuffet fehlen Eierspeisen - man muss konkret ansprechen, wenn man z.B. ein Ei oder Rührei bekommen möchte. Ansonsten bleiben eigentlich keine Wünsche offen. Im hoteleigenen Restaurant kann man sehr gut essen - absolut zu empfehlen !!! Man muss nicht lange auf sein Essen warten. Gute Portionen. Auch ein sehr guter Beilagensalat. Sehr freundlicher Kellner ! Dieses Hotel kann man auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen - auch wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder hier einchecken !
