"First impressions were pleasant. We were a family of 5 staying in the family room with private bathroom. The room was quite basic - large enough for the 5 of us, with x2 double beds and a single bed comfortably fitting in the room. However it was lacking features that you may expect in hotels and especially for longer stays - eg) TV. The 1784 building is beautifully designed and restored. Attention to detail, love and grace abound. Breakfast is delicious with fresh breads and croissants, homemade jams, fresh fruit and wonderful French cheeses. The grounds are lovely, even in early spring. "The Cacharel is like going back in time to a French ranch house. Staff is incredible- food is amazing. Gorgeous large pool (eat there!) rooms all have AC and are comfortable. Incredible location right by marshes with hundreds of flamingos and ample places to ride the iconic white horses. We had no idea how amazing this part of the world is. Would absolutely recommend if you want a wonderful once in a lifetime family adventure! We loved our stay (and added a night!) "
