St Pere is in a beautiful area of France, with Vezelay close by and the Morvan National Park to the south. The owners are very friendly, helpful and speak good English - which was most useful for us.

Don't Need to Call for Check-in

Very cute, comfratable, large room, good water pressure/temperature, the shower-tub combo was perfect. I would stay here again. However, the check in isn't right on Hotels.com. It says that you have to contact the property for check in instructions and lists a phone number. It took us multiple attempts to reach the hotel, and when we did get through they said they didn't speak English and hung up (the listing says they speak English and French). When we got there, the gate is closed and says to check in across the street at the bar. It was very easy to park and get checked in (we were inside the check in window 4pm-8:30pm) so don't stress, like we did, if you cannot call ahead.

J'ai du attendre 16h l'ouverture de l'hôtel. Le parking est fermé. Des chambres n'offrent aucune vu sur vezelay.

Ze zijn erg vriendelijk en het is er gezellig. Het enige minpuntje is de vloerbedekking in de slaapkamer. Vloerbedekking vinden wij niet hygienisch.Het ontbijt was goed.

Très sympa !

Un petit hôtel au pied de la butte de la basilique de Vézelay. L'hôtel et le bar-tabac d'en face tenu par une famille, les parents et la toute jeune fille, absolument charmante. Une ambiance chaleureuse, très calme règne. Serviables et souriants. Vraiment très bien.

En général, je n'aime pas mettre le note maximum,la perfection n'existe pas, et puis cela fait un peu "fayot'. Mais devant autant de gentillesse pour l'accueil, pour la première fois je plonge...Je souhaite bon vent, et belle réussite à ce couple qui si j'ai bien compris vient de reprendre cet hôtel. J'insiste sur la propreté de l'établissement.

Frühstück war mangelhaft, nicht weil ohne Wurst und Käse, sondern weil Brot und Croissants nur Aufbackware waren und nicht frisch vom Bäcker. Zimmer und Bad waren nicht sehr sauber. Weiße Handtücher waren vergilbt.
