"Our experience was in sharp contrast to the majority of positive reviews. The hotel was tired and dated with serious maintenance and deep cleaning needed. There were cockroaches in bathroom and feral cats wandering the halls. Guest services were rude and unhelpful, the staff in the restaurants were friendly but incompetent. Not sure what training they receive, as they made racially and culturally inappropriate comments. We got locked and bolted onto our balcony by the house keeper, when we were banging on the patio door to be let back in, she just laughed at us. Reported the incident to front desk, no action taken. There was constant noise from building work, we understand hurricane Melissa hit hard but don't re-open your property if repairs aren't complete. Food was ok, as the remainder of the resort geared towards North American clientele. Hotel staff were worse than hawkers on the beach, always trying to sell something. Don't recommend and wouldn't return."
